Sooo ... some of the properties of the sword have been outlined. It looks like it fixes itself, it can fly to quentyn when needed (we know that one already ) but it can ALSO blast stuff that gets in its way? It also looks like the reason for it "responding" to quentyn is because the bonding rune was a heart rune.

Quentyn's right though, that STILL doesnt tell him how to use it

I suspect it doesn't matter - I'll bet the sword will "know" what is best for every situation, no matter how strange it may seem since it is tune with Quentyn.
And if not, so much the better!

Well, I kept saying Quentyn's next question should be how the heck does he use the thing. Let's see if he gets any answers next time.

And we know what the Artificers will be doing: experimenting with the new eight runes and trying to replicate the fractal runic structure of Quentyn's sword.

Just like a claymore mine.....but at least it doesn't have "DO NOT EAT" written on it somewhere like is molded into the backside of the claymore casing.

Going back and reading the last 2 panels, I think Quentyn's asking how does he use all the information he's just been given! Which, in turn, should tell him how to use the sword to it's fullest, or at least greater extent.

Pure guesswork here, but I'm "listening" to Quentyn's words and voice while watching his body/facial language.

I think he understands it somewhat, although its totally out of my league. Quentyn's question is a very important one, and frankly one I would very much like to see the answer to.

But seriously from the way it sounds it must be kinda hard cause you can't exsactly
point it at someone and say fire and exspect fire to come out?
or at least that time they were testing out the sword
didn't end well with him being spooked by it?

worst case scenario:

irons keeps us getting strung along by saying something like "i don't know"

i kinda dont like the idea of knowing how to work the sword EXACTLY, some unpredictability is a very powerfull ally when in combat.

I kinda like the "chaotic" effects the sword creates. It adds to the suspence, you never know just what is going to come out of it

Besides, the sword is very powerful. No matter what Quentyn is going to do with it it is going to be awesome

It's kind of funny. Quentyn likes how it sounds, but like most modern technolgy, he just wants the instruction manual.
