...yet another reason I think Crush Yiff Destroy are idiots.
First, they hijack the 'Burned Fur' movement... has anyone actually read Squee-Rat's "A look at this sordid little business"? Its alot more... sane than the later Burned Fur arguements...
And despite my wishes to the contrary, Ben does use alot of logic to support his ideas, which while I do not agree with most of 'em (Or his logic), I have a hard time refuting off the top of my head, or poking holes in it.
..and... "Dumbassity"? They stealing words out of my head, I've been using that for almost a year. That, and assholic (Which has been in my vocabulary since my first week of the Internet)...
...lard?
..erm.

You know... I'd never even heard of CYD before today. Mind you, I'm familiar with some of it's contributors, but still...
...I'd categorize them as "Self-loathing" furries.. Furry fans who seem utterly focused on the idea of pointing at other furry fans and laughing at them.
...Although some of their articles are enlightening: I never suspected that TDK and Eric Shwartz might be the same person, or that some Christian Furries depicted Christ as a Lion.
...I can see the connections, although I'm more of a fan of the "Every species sees him as one of their own" concept once used in Kevin and Kell, myself.

Oh, I know Chronicles of Narnia. I loved the BBC adaptation of the series. Like I said, I can see the connections, not only there, but also the "Lion of Judah" metaphor from Revelations, and the "Lion lays with the Lamb" image of the Church...DragonMasterHawk wrote:Have you never read the Chronicles of Narnia?LoneWolf23k wrote:or that some Christian Furries depicted Christ as a Lion.
I just had no idea there were some Christian Furries who actually drew pictures of Christ as a Lion furry.

Enemies
It is said you can judge a man by the company he keeps.
It is also said that an even better way of judging a man is by the enemies he keeps.
Uhm....
Don't take this wrong, Ralph, but as enemies go, these bozos are pretty lame.
(oh well, they can't all be moriarities or silver age luthors)
Keep turning out the great stuff you have, and I'm sure you'll make plenty of better class enemies!
That's what pisses off (and scares) tiny minds. Not how loud your work is, but the quality.

You can fool some of the people all of the time
And all of the people some of the time
But you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

As usual for me I have a foot in all sides of things. I love freedom of speech and hate censorship but at the same time think "yiff" is leaving a big black mark on "clean furries" like me. I can't complain about either side, nor can I join either side. Oh well, I guess all I can do is make my own slightly furry comic strip (talking animals, aliens, dragons, self-aware AI who dress up as digital cartoon charaters, etc - OK it's quite "furry") with a slight bit of yiff and vore (tasteful and almost "G" rated but hey, the world is a rough place and animals don't wear cloths)

Very interesting
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.
Which side of the Burned Fur do I stand?
...neither. I'm off on my own side. Why?
Because there are always going to be people who are into the sexual aspects of whatever thing they enjoy. Its like the people who write the Harry Potter fan fiction with the sex scenes between Snape and Hermoine, and the yaoi scene between Harry and Ron. >.< (That hurts my head just THINKING about it...)
Its a fringe we're not going to be rid of. There are lots of Star Trek or Star Wars fans out there who go to conventions who DON'T dress up, who ARN'T weird, who just like the show and movie and look to see whats there.
Yet, people will always focus on the people who are weird, who do dress up as esoteric characters that appear in just one episode or just one scene, and the people from the outside who bother looking in will play the scene up as the majority (EVERYONE! >.<) wears the costumes.
Is this right? No, not really. Is this human nature? In my opinion, yes. We almost always assume the worst in people who are different from us. I don't, personally, but...
'Everyone' knows that the majority of people are idiots, right?
How come the majority of people I know arn't idiots, and rather smart (If misguided and foolish) people? Same thing.
We'll never be rid of the various people who post violent smut on the VCL, or the sadistic evil perverted bastards who run and support Cubcentral.org (Home of the furry pedophiles, I swear), and the key is to STOP LOOKING FOR THEM.
Recently, one of the local news channels did a thing on Furries. There were two main people arguing the side of "Furry is a sex thing," a shrink and the guy in charge of one of our local Furry-cons.
Shrink: Its a sexual release to become someone else.
Furry guy: Ever try having sex with all your cloths on? Its worse with a fursuit, its not really possible or realistic.
Am I one of those sex-crazed furries? Yup. Of course, I'm also young, not even 20, and also male. If it wasn't furries, I'd be sex crazed about something else, like Lara Croft.
What is this post about? I don't know.
But rutabegas are not better than squash, and vice versa.
