Ah very excellent, his night terrors attracted wights. Though, the mother in law is starting to rub me the wrong way.

Finaly I was right about something.

From the looks of that last frame, looks like 'Mother' Millfolk just got on 'Mama' Millfolks last good nerve.
You might want to leave that rod behind, Quentyn. One of the 'Mrs.' millfolks may be wanting to use it shortly.

I gotta agree though, I am not feeling all that well inclined towards her or her pet quack either. I think the Millfolks (by which I mean Colin's parents) are going to straighten some things out, I believe.

Whether or not you've played FFIV, the point remains the same.

The message got through - look at Lord and Lady Millfolks' expressions - Lady Millfolks' getting ready to unload on Mom-In-Law, and Lord Millfolks is showing agreement - if not outright admiration of our young hero's vocal boldness - great job, Ralph!

Based on the expressions in the last frame alone, I'm pretty sure that the "brassy, independent, tenderhearted girl" Cole fell in love with in the first place is about to re-emerge....somewhat forcefully.

I'd say there's a pretty fair chance that Mother Millfolk is about to be read the riot act, chapter and verse, with 5 part harmony. I'm also thinking that there's about to be some BIG changes in the way "Millfolk Manor" is gonna be run. I think Marta will still listen to the advice of the staff and others who help run the manor, but she's gonna "steer her own boat" so to speak. And of course Colin is going to find out just what kind of loving and truely devoted mother he really has.

Healer Raintree's just gonna be happy to be out of range of Quentyn's wrath.

Quentyn's obvoiusly now a true hero in Colin's eyes and he's certainly made good friends of Lord and Lady M. which may or may not come in handy in the future.

I'd hold off on the celebrations though. This story isn't over yet. We still don't know how Quentyn (or Emmett) are going to respond to the pressure to keep quiet.

This entire story has been full of new surprises and plot twists at every turn. Every time we think we know where the story is going (i.e. with Squib's first appearance and the initial notion that Colin's dreams were either imagined or the result of someone else casting a spell) RH pulls it in an entirely new direction, while wrapping up all the loose ends quiet neatly.

That requires no small talent and shows how good a story teller RH is. It isn't going to end here, not by a long shot. Quentyn and Co. ain't out of the woods yet!

Postscript to Healer Raintree's statement about Quenty being ready to be signed out........"an' SOMEbody PLEASE go find me an aspirin!"

I'm not saying that Dr. Raintree didn't need to be taught a lesson... but he did save Quentyn's life. (Well, I don't know if it was him personally; it could have been the nurse or easily another doctor.) But what I'm saying is, for all his faults, he is the person you'd run to cure something (a bad infection, for instance), that you couldn't cure yourself.

Maybe Quentyn could loan the curtain rod to Lady Millfolk.

Which is probably why Quentyn didn't use anything more serious than a curtain rod.

Since Quentyn's sword is still out of commission and he has lost his loaner sword in the tunnels, perhaps he should hold onto the curtain rod for a while? After all, it has been shown to be a potent weapon (at least against over inflated egos).

After the huge debate over whether Quentyn's actions of the previous strip were out of character or not, I guess this would settle it. Quentyn justified his action before his employers, but I think he realized what he did was rather unprofessional. (Beatig a relatively trusted family doctor in front of the family might be warranted in some instances, but it is not necessarily good form) He is preparing to leave now, I think, becauses he realizes that he may have insulted the family. (Well, that and his job is just about done there anyways)
