[...unWARP!!!]
Good evening.
Yup, he was startled, but incredibly angry (check out his eyes on the December 30 strip. Now THAT's startling and anger combined if I ever saw it!)
Also, he said "I mighta known" so he obviously knows what it is, so we're going to get some explanations on the next strips.

You still don't understand! I have only myself to blame, I suppose.
I believed in you, thought you have potential...but apparently I was wrong!

Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

A matter of numbers?
A better question is whether bogeymen are solitary creatures, or whether they congregate in packs.

Selective invisibility, perhaps?
My guess is that it never showed up (or got out fast) when adults were present. Colin's residual fear was causing him to project the night terrors, and the adults around him obviously assumed that they were the sole cause of his problem. The bogeyman showed up this time because it didn't sense any adults in the room - Quentyn is still stepping into the role of an adult, so we can probably forgive the bogeyman for the mistake. Also, telling his story to Colin probably left Quentyn feeling like a little kid inside, which might also serve to confuse the bogeyman, if it uses some sort of telepathic (or empathic) instinct to spot adults.

or possibly into another inflato monsterMad Mike wrote:Oops - left something out:
The bogeyman almost HAS to have some sort of mindreading ability to be able to duplicate images that lead to the maximum fear in its victim - like changing into a jelly for Quentyn.

Yep, me too. There's about a half-dozen days now scattered among the three strips that simply won't load on either Netscape or IE. What browser do you use?UncleMonty wrote:Well dang... I can see the Dec. 30 and Jan. 1 comics, but the Dec. 31 strip won't load for me.
Weird.

It happens to me pretty often, too. Gets kinda aggravating, but it seems to clear up after a while (sometimes it takes several days, sometimes a few hours). I have no idea what the problem is - I use IE/AOL.UncleMonty wrote:

Hopefully it doesn't carry any diseases. I don't think a case of bogey fever would go over too well around here.Mad Mike wrote:My guess is that the bogeyman ingests the lux produced by Rac Conan kits suffering from night terrors - it pops up, scares the kit, the kit then suffers from night terrors, and the bogeyman has a good meal.
