I got curious and actually did a web search on "skvader"... Ralph didn't make up that word, folks. He actually researched Swedish mythology to find a critter for Quentyn to bag with his repaired lux pistol. That's like checking for dust on top of a neighbor's refrigerator and finding a wrapped mint in a spotlessly clean dish there for you.
Avoid those who speak badly of the people, for such wish to rule over you.

<chuckle> The story of the skvader (pronounced skvah-dur, I believe) is a fun one as well (thatks, Monty, fur getting me started):UncleMonty wrote:I got curious and actually did a web search on "skvader"... In the early days of the 20th century, Håkan Dahlmark, an occasional hunter, claimed that in 1874 he had shot a creature with the head and limbs of a mountain hare, but the back and wings of a female wood grouse, which he called a skvader. Everyone laughed.
In 1907, his housekeeper gave him a painting on his birthday; a painting of the skvader he'd described, painted by her nephew.
In 1912, shortly before his death, he donated the picture to a local museum.
In 1916, the painting was exhibited in Örnsköldsvik, where the museum manager became acquainted with Rudolf Granberg, an accomplished taxidermist. He asked if Granberg could reconstruct the creature.
Two years later, the work was complete. The stuffed skvader is now exhibited alongside the painting, and has even been given the Latin name of Tetrao lepus pseudo-hybridus rarissimus L. They even have a skader crossing sign on the road nearby.

Actually, I knew how to spell chupacabra, but I was hoping that someone here would recognize a Red vs. Blue joke. Sadly, no one did.Wanderwolf wrote:No, you've got it right. It can also be spelled Chupacabras, but that's a small matter. You've spelled that sucker right.
