Yes, I do agree, Lighthawk, but the other thing to wonder is did Tristan accidentally trigger something, (highly unlikely IMHO) or did the PTB behind feather what mess with Tris's mind mess with the teleport as well??????

I still think he should be happy to be released. why?:

-he has a hot girlfriend who is now powerful AND immortal, not just a lowley priestess. (And i bet she hasnt had any hot demon action in a while and misses him a LOT

-hes stuck in a mortal body, not even realizing his true existance. sux!

From the looks of things, Kulitta (or whoever else decided to redirect the teleport) didn't exactly prevent Utnapishtim from reaching the ziggurat. Of course, the intent may just have been to keep him from reaching the ziggurat *in time*...

Now let's see if Ki is still IN there...
