Yay! Combat!
And I just had to do a double-take, Psychoblonde, to make sure you said "breast-buck". When your brain misreads just ONE letter... <IMG SRC="

Personally, I'm sad the teeth marks on Darron's thigh didn't really show up. Caryn probably would've left bigger marks, anyway. An artistic error on my part.
As for cameos, a few more are on the way; drawing other people's characters is a nice change of pace; not that drawing my own in silly outfits isn't either... <IMG SRC="

Just out of curiosity... how big is the original artwork when you do these strips? Both you and BJ have commented about details that didn't make it to the scanned/inked versions of the strips and I'm kind of wondering about how much reduction the art is subjected to before we see it.
Doc
- talk about shrinkage...

Every time I see that drawing of you, DocMan, I just laugh. Caryn, too.
Each strip we draw is 15.75" long and 5" tall, unless it's a two-tiered strip like Thursday's (and many to come) TS, which is 10.25" tall. We have to scan 'em in two parts (or four, depending) and piece 'em together in Photoshop.
------------------

And, here's BJ to blather on about how a Sunday style strip works. I think HE should do a few of 'em..
Yeah, there really isn't too much detail on what you all see. It's kind of like when you photocopy a photocopied photocopy. And I especially hate it, because when I draw a specific pose that I want cropped just so, or just a full figure in a panel (like Darron and Tonja in the last panel of Thursday's), I draw it even bigger than it ends up on the original artwork. Tonja and Darron were originally about nine inches tall, then I shrank (is that a word?)them and lightboxed 'em onto the five inch panel. Of course, any detail I put on these drawings (such as bitemarks) will disappear when they shrink. I found this out a while ago, but to this day I don't do a thing about it If I had my own way, each panel would be about 5 by 15 feet or so. That's the ONLY way to really draw. But then again, you all would only get one update a month...
And, Docman, I'm glad my caricature actually ended up looking like you. Sometimes my caricatures are waaaay off. I did a Ricky Martin drawing for JoBeth a bit back, and for some reason, the finished one ended up looking like Regis Philbin. Yick.

I'd love to get a full sized JPG of that so I could slap it up as wallpaper. I'm guessing that you piece the full sized scans together to get the alignment right and then reduce the whole thing when you save it off in an uploadable size?
I noticed what looked like little black dots on my cheeks, and I didn't know if they were small lines to define my cheeks that didn't reduce well, or if Joey picked out some small facial blemish that I'd never noticed and reproduced it faithfully. This is the kind of thing that never comes up until you've seen the person represented in the comic.
Hee hee. I also noticed that Psychoblonde got busted with a real bust. <IMG SRC="

Thanks for giving me a peek at the full sized scans, BJ. It's quite a change to see how much detail some of the panels are drawn to.
I like Joey's idea of having the 5 by 15 strips. <IMG SRC="

Y'know...I believe those marks are crow's feet.
As for the original art, I took the liberty of uploading full-sized scans of the original art for the <A HREF="

Oops, sorry--the files are scanned at 300 dpi, and they're about 35k and 80k respectively. File size is about the same as a final strip.

I certainly didn't intend to make you look older than you are <IMG SRC="
http://www.keenspace.com/forums/biggrin ... P>Actually, Damien has them, too; they're not exactly crow's feet. I usually put them on guys who I want to look more jovial. I also put them on guys who look like they've spent a bit of time outdoors (this is why Darron and Shannon are lacking, in that dept. anyway) Even though, in the given strip, DocBandit isn't really that jovial...
[This message has been edited by thefiretrap (edited 09-26-2001).]
