I second that motion. What the heck is Botox? (and why would you make a bra out of it?)

Botox is the latest cosmetic-surgery-without-surgery crap - basically they inject small doses of botulism toxin (hence 'botox') into YOUR FACE! FACE, I TELL YOU! NEEDLES IN YOUR FACE! AGH! and this basically paralyzes the muscles and tightens the skin, getting rid of wrinkles BECAUSE YOU INJECTED POISON! INTO YOUR FACE! WITH A NEEDLE! AGH!
They have parties where they do this en masse. "They" being people who apparently would rather INJECT POISON INTO THEIR FACES WITH A NEEDLE than get a lil wrinkly.
Did I mention the poison? And the needles? And the face? AGH!

Who hasn't smoked since Feb. 8th, but is damn tempted at the moment, because he finds out today if his mortgage application goes through...

Glad to see I wasn't the only one looking at BJ's strip and going
"HUH??"
Even though I knew what botox is, I still don't "get it".
It looks nice though.

Okay, it's BJ, not Joey here, since my "account is inactive"--right after I posted, updated my avatar and website and changed my sig. I HATE PHPBB. IT SUCKS AND I WANT TO SLAP THE GENIUS WHO DECIDED IT WAS A GOOD IDEA. Inactive my Aunt Fanny.
Anyway...
Shannon, DON'T YOU DARE START THE CANCER STIX AGAIN OR WE'LL SICK MINDY ON YOU. We found her. She lives in Point, and goes by the name of Hannah. And we will sick her on you, yes we will.
The Botox strip is based on the observation that Botox junkies (sorry, "enthusiasts") tend to have that surprised sort of Cher look on their faces all the time--because their eyebrows WILL NOT CONTRACT. Carry on a conversation with a Botox ju--er--enthusiast sometime. Only half of their face is expressive. It's also used for crow's feet by the eyes and anywhere muscle contractions contribute to skin wrinkles, but primarily for frown lines on the forehead. I've seen plenty of before-and-after photos, and while the people do look less wrinkly, their faces are far less interesting.
These are sad, sick people. Side note: In Australia, where they do use Botox injections for the treatment of facial tics (one of its original uses), they have yet to show any interest at all in approving it for cosmetic use. God Bless America, home of the vain. We make me sick.

Yay! People! Or should i say, Subjects! woo!
Guess it takes strips to generate conversations...
Hey, Shannon, BJ, What happened to the Green front page for Jobeth.net? That's what I used as my primary bookmark for connecting to these strips every day, figuring it would give an extra hit to the ad banners, but for the past month or two, it's only connected to the actual JoBeth page.
Where did the green page go?
And as for what botox really is...
ewww!

Well, according to an irate Shannon, the new KeenSpace people-who-make-decisions (like the PHPBB decision we all love) have deleted the special code created specifically for JB.net that let that page exist. They don't seem to care much about reinstating it, so I imagine we'll have to place links on each page to the other comix. This may be to our advantage with the addition of the
Catball & Clown Girl comic, even though it updates (never) infrequently.

Well, that blows.
Hm. New people in charge of Keen? That mean that the old people who ran it sold out? That can only mean bad things...
More than once I've wished I could afford a big line and a server so I could host all my favorite comics, and they wouldn't have to put up with all this crud. I used to be a big proponent of Keen, but in the last year or so, they've really gone downhill. Popups, slow access, downtimes, and crappy forums.
Let's hope it won't get any worse.

Well, Zodo, if you do start hosting your favorite comics on your own server, it'll make it easier for Keen to host the rest of the... um...crap that you don't like.

Thanks to BJ for the newer, spiffier avatar...

I liked it too...
But I'm more curious about the plunger gardening method Tonja's employing.
