Here's the deal, for anyone still reading.

Post by J-Dawg »

As more than a few have noticed (me included), the updates have been pretty flaky for the past few months. There've been a number of reasons for this.

1. Our computer chooses to lock up, crap out, or blow up about every other week or so lately. The latest fun is a lightning storm frying the scanner. That's why there was no Thursday update.

2. I have an ongoing freelance graphic design job, on top of my 'regular' job.

3. Most significantly, I HATE drawing the Coleman strips. I started them with a half-assed script, and the jokes and strips aren't really leading to anything. It's boring boring boring. There's nothing harder than drawing something you don't give a crap about. I did enough of that in Letterform class.

So, here's what I'm going to do. A new scanner is on order, and I am taking the week of Sept. 19-23 off to completely rewrite Coleman Elementary book 3 (since I don't have a scanner anyway). I will be back on Sept. 27, hopefully with some funnier strips.

Thanks to anyone still reading this strip for being patient enough to keep reading. On a side note, does anyone know how to check one's numbers in the Keen logs? I honestly want to find out how much readership has dropped, but have no idea how to do it anymore.

Ya know...

Most of us don't really mind the delays as long as you tell us what causes the delays. It's the sudden silence that goes on for months at a time that makes people think that you've suddenly given up and will never update the comic again. Like what has happened with Jackie's Fridge.

This'll be on the front page Tuesday....but, still no scanner. I will be running the updates Thursday and Saturday this week.

Again, does anybody know how to check the Keen logs?

(There's no "l" after your member name, that was my failure to fully get rid of my own member name from the spot)

I don't know if you have a lot of fans in finland but you have one at least :)
I know every body has some problems on things they are doing.. Like myself. I like writing stories and stuff like that. but some times i have a problem of making my thoughts into words and it bugs me a lot... i know you don't like the coleman episode that you are doing but i like it :) i have seriously thought of buying all of you comic books about tonja steel :) but i just have to wait for another job or something like that..
But i hope you keep doing the comic couse i don't want that you just leave it like so many others have done... :( lost i lot of good comics...)

But yours sincerely Hiroshi Daishi from Finland :)
