A Martha Stewart Football Question.

Alright. I can't find the answer to this anywhere, so I'll give it a whirl here. I have a football jersey. I won't say which team, but you can be pretty sure it isn't a Tampa Bay or Oakland one.

Anyway, the vinyl numbers on it are cracking. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there some sort of sealant I can use? I'd think this'd be a fairly common problem; you've all seen those ratty old Cowboys jerseys at the Goodwill. Any serious input is appreciated!

Since the markings are of a rubber/plastic variety, perhaps a trip to the local auto parts or auto body store is needed. You need a vinyl preservative/restorer. Something like, but not, armor all. Someone there should, note should, be able to put you on to a product which will treat the material without drying it out further.
