Nice work, fellas.

Is Steve meant to be beating up some wussy little elf?
And is Steve just being some random fighter?

"Wussy little elf"?

That's Charles dressed as Link from Legend of Zelda.

Steve is dressed as Marth from the game Fire Emblem.

Together, of course, they're in the game Super Smash Bros. Melee.

...I guess the dialogue in the last panel kinda obscured one of the details - the fact that Steve and Charles are playing Gamecube. People rather familiar with the game would no doubt get it, but I suppose not everyone in our audience is a SSBM fan.

I got it, and I don't play video games at all... or any other kinds of games, besides board games and that sort of thing. But then again, I've had to sit through many a game of Super Smash Brothers Melee waiting for my friends to finish playing so we could actually do something in real life.

Ah well, I don't even have friends who play them in my presence, so I got no clue.
