That was all drawn by hand and then coloured in photoshop (well psp6 actually, but close enough).
Heh, I've polished my boots so many times in the army, I didn't even have to look at them to draw them.
Actually I've been experimenting with 3D modelling, but I'm not yet familiar enough with it to be able to come up with anything fast enough to be useful. I'm hoping to get good enough at it to be able to either come up with models for drawing reference (which would have been nice for that gun because I was having some perspective problems with the thing), or to try to integrate the 3D right into the comic.
Maybe by the summer...but for now, It's just faster to draw.
I suppose for something like the gun I could build a rough model in 3D just to get the perspective right and just use it for reference. Oh well, next time...
Actually, come to think of it, making a quick and dirty 3D model is probably easier than drafting a 3 view orthographic on paper and trying to derive perspective views just by staring at the thing...
Now I just need to scrounge up some money to buy a good 3D program. I hate having to travel 1.5 hours to get to school just to use their stuff.
[This message has been edited by Sarah Huntrods (edited 01-28-2002).]
