Wow AC, you sure were a talented 10 year old! Talk about a reasonably coherent story and what wit! Remember what I was drawing when I was ten? Oh Lord, that means when you are my age you know how much better you'll be than what I am now? So you go around thinking I'm better than you when in actuality you are better than I! Now I'm really scared!
I love your crazy beetles! Your story is so funny and your beetle guy (Kent Clark?) is a hilarious design. Your other designs are also cool and those lines are hilarious. It is definitely something fun to read all these crazy old pieces, because they really have a naive edge that makes them so funny. I'm glad you're putting them up!
So are you going to put your tablet in a plastic case? "Here lies the tablet that has been with me for 7+ years." It'd be cool.

Thanks! I certainly thought so when I was that age! *smiles*On 2002-04-16 00:32, Bryan Y B Wong wrote:

Oh stop it! You're making me blush! (but now that I think about it, I guess your right.)Talk about a reasonably coherent story and what wit!
You know why I think I was so intelligent back then? Well, for one I was attending grade 5 in a PRIVATE SCHOOL,... Temple Christian ACADEMY. I had the best teacher! ^_^ And for another, I always was a really smart kid. Like, remember talking about how I totally understood the Matrix, yet not SoC, WAY back? Well, that, and my coherant story back when I was 10, I believe, was caused by my love for MIND-BENDING stuff (ie: Sci-Fi). It started when I was about 5 or 6, and my dad showed us BACK TO THE FUTURE and BILL AND TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. Because of the introduction to those two movies (and the introduction to Sliders when I was 7 in '92) is the cause for my "intelligence" I believe. That, and the fact that kids are generally smart, and a whole heck of a lot smarter than we (aka: society in general) give them credit for.
Actually, I DON'T remember what you were drawing when you were 10. "The 3 'o Us"? Seriously, no clue. And AS OF NOW, you ARE better than me. But I know what you mean. There's this kid on the Drowtales oekaki board, Sharde. He/she is 14, and could draw CIRCLES around the 2 of our efforts combined!!!! I told Sharde that he/she should definately consider going into the animation field as a career. (I know that sentance has lots of messed up grammar... ~_~; It was the best way I could express myself, though.)Remember what I was drawing when I was ten? Hehe! Thanks! Naive edge? Heh. I guess if you mean the REALLY simple solution to the problem, I guess so. Hehe. Thanks very much. Yeah. I get a kick of Ken Clark's (Yup.. that's his name. You were close. I dropped the 't' though, because it was too weird a first name. Plus, I didn't want to get sued!!! That's right! Even at 10, I was worried about being sued! And this was before the internet was "invented" (or at least available for the public), before I was considering showing them to anyone, really. Although I did have a half-hour cartoon show in mind for the future, and I guess that's why I was considering that.) mouth too! Its like an upside-down F almost! *teehee!*
Thanks so much for all the nice comments!
*hugs*
I don't know what you mean by that.. Especially since I've only had my tablet for.. um.... Well.. 6 months!!!! Yeah.. I got it a few weeks late for my birthday in OCTOBER 2001!!!So are you going to put your tablet in a plastic case? "Here lies the tablet that has been with me for 7+ years." It'd be cool.
So I'm really quite baffled by that statement.

Well, good schooling and exposure to complex art certainly does help, and may explain the cleverness in your comic. Sometimes I think it's a further sign of how truly destined you are to draw! I remember what inspired me to draw my comics back then - "I'm gonna git you sucka!" Not that complex of a movie, but it sure was funny! On 2002-04-16 13:41, AnimeCanuck wrote:

Oh I agree. I think when we were kids, our minds were more flexible and able to learn more efficiently and quickly. As we grow older, that flexibility dwindles as we start preoccupying ourselves with lots of social issues and such. This sounds like the kind of stuff I was talking about in my Rohan Hill history page. That, and the fact that kids are generally smart, and a whole heck of a lot smarter than we (aka: society in general) give them credit for.
Just the three of us, I think was around 14 years of age. (oh gawd, I was too old for that sillyness), 10 was when I was drawing Undercover, and Bre Town, and maybe I was beginning One City Street.Actually, I DON'T remember what you were drawing when you were 10. "The 3 'o Us"? Seriously, no clue.
Wow, and that early of a talent! That's gonna be something when he/she becomes our age. I guess we'll just have to keep practicing hard so we don't fall too behind. Now you've intrigued me. I wanna see what this Sharde kid's got! There's this kid on the Drowtales oekaki board, Sharde. He/she is 14, and could draw CIRCLES around the 2 of our efforts combined!!!! well, I don't mean naive in a bad way, it's just that kids to really funny things that they don't really know is funny.Naive edge? Heh. I guess if you mean the REALLY simple solution to the problem, I guess so.
We definitely have grand dreams when we are kids. Hope you still have those dreams! And this was before the internet was "invented" (or at least available for the public), before I was considering showing them to anyone, really. Your printing/paper tablet! (or whatever you called it in your rant) the big pad of paper.I don't know what you mean by that.. Especially since I've only had my tablet for.. um.... Well.. 6 months!!!! Yeah.. I got it a few weeks late for my birthday in OCTOBER 2001!!!

Ooooooooh!!! *nods*
The PAPER!!!!! *nods*
Hehe. Well, I guess I could do that with the covers. On the inside, of the front cover, I have worked out Zeila's origins, or at least, her heritage. Kinda-sorta both at once, if you know what I mean! It was either 250, 400, or 450 pages.. I think 400 though... Actually! *goes to find it on her desk across the room* Whoa! Its only 150! No wonder it ran out so fast! ^_^;
Well, that gos to show you how sucky my memory is! (Then how come I have both my ICQ numbers memorized? One of them I haven't used in a few years? How come I know a whole ton of people's numbers.. even people I don't call?)
Oh yeah! And I realized some weird stuff on the last two pages! First, on the last page, I spelt "tickle" right... AND wrong! Its weird.
Second, on today's page, I noticed just now (for the first time ever, I think) That I spelt Kathrine wrong! "KATHRIEN"!! Even back THEN I was dyslexic!!!!

Crazy, huh?
Well.. That's all I can think of, my brain's gone numb, and I have to go pee!!!
*runs off to the bathroom*
