OK, usually Valentine's Day is a sort of lame time of suffering for me. It's really just a nice yearly reminder of what a huge loser I am.
But not this year.
No, I'm still a loser.
But this year it's ok, because with the help of a few people who mentioned things to me, I realized that Valentine's Day doesn't have to be Yearly Reminder That You're A Loser Day. No, from now on I decree that Valentine's Day will be known as DAY BEFORE CANDY GOES ON SALE DAY!
Yeah, it kicks ass.
------------------

I told someone that joke and they chuckled slightly. Not very hard, mind you, but I take what I can get.
------------------

St. Valentine's Day is evil. Why? Becaused every V-day, something bad happens to me. And this year it has happened again. I'm not going to bore you with the details, but I have a good point here.
Halloween. Nothing evil happens then, so why have it then? Make V-Day, and HW switch spots. It all makes sense.
------------------
Look!! Behind you! NYAH!! Made you look!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

St. Valentine's Day:
THEN - Designed to prevent teenagers from screwing.
NOW - Designed to sell greeting cards.
At least we can't complain it's degraded from its original purpose.

How did it prevent teenagers from screwing?
Seems to have the opposite effect!
(Please note I'm not cool/rude enough to be implying something with that)

The day is named after Saint Valentine. It's supposed to show the holiness of love, which apparently is sex-less. Did a research paper in highschool about it. It was amusing because I got to say 'sex' a lot.

That's nothing. I proposed to student government that we have a skanking contest today. So all of the ASB chicks talking about skanking, plus I will probably get to say the word "skank" repeatedly over the big public address system thing.

I used to hate Valentine's day because it reminded me of how depressed and lonely I was. Now I just hate it because I have to buy stuff.
Also, is the Valentine's day Massacre the day they killed gangsters or the day they killed Hugonauts(sp)?

A SHORT HISTORY OF VALENTINE'S DAY:
(ch. 1)
IN the beginning, the Romans declared that teenagers would be 'married' for a whole month, and got to enjoy all the privileges of that institution. WHEN the Christians took over, they noticed the teenagers were still screwing in Febuary (as well as all other times of year) and invented a holiday (similar to the story of Christmas) to take over from the old one.* So, since they could no longer screw with impunity during the month of Febuary, teenagers began sending letters, bards, and paid-off friends of affection to each other. Not what the Church had wanted, but it worked. The first Valentine's cards were introduced in Germany for about $60 a pop (adjusting for inflation and currency exchange)
* Coincidentally, I believe the original Valentine was a missionary and was boiled alive.
