The correct term for a spoon that has fork-like tines is a runcible spoon. In fact, the word 'runcible' is a word that can only be used to modify 'spoon', which perhaps explains why I have a strange fondness for it.

For those who are interested, the term 'runcible spoon' was invented by Edward Lear, and was first used in print in his poem 'The Owl And The Pussycat'. You can look this up in any decent dictionary (say, the Concise Oxford).

Just doin' my bit to enlighten, educate and inform.

I felt a little gypped by the second question...if I've already agreed, in principle, to pay for webcomics, then I'm pretty much forced to pick one of the top three options. Or say that I'd be willing to pay in "praise and goodwill," but that sort of contradicts the usual understanding of question one...

Okay, I answered the questions, but if this takes my favorite comic closer to charging money, I will tear you up in little pieces and burn them, then I will urinate in the ashes and then, finally, mix the mud with the guts of a thousand rats.

So I should have added merchandise... People do pay that way, in that backwards sort of fuel the economy sort of way.
As for whether the second question... I guess it is kind of silly. Should I just reverse the order? Would that make you feel better Matt?
(And you'd be surprised how many people would like to pay in praise. I think the EU should think about dropping the name Euro and changing it to "praise")

I can't say I have a strong preference...I guess my instinct would be to maybe have three questions -- those willing to pay would choose from the payment options, and those not willing to pay would answer another question re. how they support the comics they read (praise and goodwill, merchandise, etc.)

I am sure that my number of readers would skyrocket if only I charged them money to see my comic!

Besides, my comic is huge among homeless people with access to library computers. They are my key demographic, and if I start charging, then forget it.

And what of the kids? If we start charging for comics, where will future generations go for their online entertainment needs? Where will they go for good old fashioned free entertainment?

Well, I guess they'll always be able to find free porn.
