Okay, I can't afford Keenspot Premium, and quite frankly, some of the 'spot strips are not ones I want getting 1/40th of the Premium contribution.So I'm just allocating a few bucks a week to give to various Web cartoonists when they do something that strikes me as particularly funny. Unfortunately, given the vagries of PayPal, donating a dollar (U.S.) usually costs over $2 Canadian, so I can't even do THAT very often. Mortgages SUCK. But I just wanted to say in some public way that I AM trying to contribute. A little.------------------

What we need is a new monetary system here in the western hemisphere. Much like the Euro. It would be called the Amero. Or perhaps just Moolah.------------------

I do find Paypal quite tedious to sign up for, but a good idea none-the-less. Do they really have access to your bank account?------------------

After the currency goes our decent educational system and medicare system, etc. etc.And I got PayPal hooked up to my Visa, which offers me at least some measure of security. I have a Visa with a $500 limit that I try to do most of my on-line stuff on, so that even if the number gets swiped I'm reasonably safe.I'm surprised credit card companies don't market a low-limit ($250 or so) card as an "online card" to prey on people's security fears...------------------

Ah yes, Shep, but then the credit card companies would only be able to charge 49% interest on $250 instead of $500 or a $1000.I'm speaking from the bitter experience of a man who has turned debt into an art form.

I've become a big fan of "zero debt," except for my mortgage, natch. Credit cards get paid off when the bills arrive, or I starve myself 'till I can pay 'em. The biggest challenge in staying liquid has been my total lack of a car, which is a colossal pain in the ass but the only way I can keep my head above water moneywise.Hey, look at the guy with the good job and no dependents! Look at him whine about not having a car! Whine, whine, whine.I'm such a suck.------------------
