The guys from before meet the girl ! She was the one they were talking about ! It all comes together now !BOY OH BOY ! EVERYTHING COMES BACK FULL CIRCLE ! DON'T YOU LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER ?I'm so excited, I can barely breathe !BTW, you should make a permanent for the basic planetary configuration (all the levels) and who comes from where. It's gonna be a bother digging up the same comic all the time to find out what's going on. Oh yea, and an explanation of the gravity fields would be nice.------------------

That's one thing that I sort of expected would be understood. The intro guy had to build a pretty sturdy transportation device to get to the center of the earth in the first place, let alone stand the heat, and plant a device at the center that would stay there for the next 10,000 years.But that device DID reverse gravity... wouldn't that cool the earth down a bit?There are also other things to consider:
The earth was pretty much hollowed out, probably considerably cooling it down.
The same material that shielded the original trip to the core could also be used in shielding the living areas from the intense heat.There are lots of possibilities. I know I shouldn't say this since the comic is more science fiction than fantasy (I'd think), but... I'll leave it up to your imagination.------------------

Well, actually... "gravity" isn't just some sort of special propery of a planet. Everything has a field of gravity. Even your pencil and shirt or crap or whatever random object you want to point out.My point is, the greater the mass of an item, the greater it's gravity. By hollowing out the planet (a massively difficult deed, I might add, one that would send out enough debris to make a few moons), the gravity of the planet doesn't reverse... it dissipates.So even if a device were made to reverse gravity (which is weird in itself but I suppose it's not arguable since that's basically what it does and all sci-fis are allowed some stuff like that!), the planet no longer has nearly enough gravity to reverse. It would have a lot less than the moon, and that wouldn't be enough to keep people on their feet.And the very very core of the planet is about as hot as the sun... now there's a LOT LESS of our core than sun (I think the sun's mass is that of all other planets combined times 750), but truly difficult to put some sort of fire retardant metal down there.
