Of course, it'll be decades before this could happen in the USA - we're still a lot more puritanical than Europe, and, whether that's good or bad, we hate to admit it. I'm not sure where I stand on the issue.
It sounds like a good idea (the "right to choose" and all), but I'm sure there have been people who begged to be left to die, but were refused the right, and ended up living fulfilling lives afterward.
