Well... technically Son Son came from a game called Son Son that was released in arcades in the early 80's (and got a NES port in Japan), in fact if my memory serves me correctly, it was actually the second game Capcom ever made. There was a Son Son II for the TG-16 as well. Just one problem, the Son Son in all those games were in fact a male monkey person (this version also makes a cameo in the backgrounds of both Pocket Fighter and Puzzle Fighter), however the Son Son in MvC2 is a female... which is rather odd. I've heard rumors that the Son Son in MvC2 is actually the granddaughter of the original Son Son, but I have yet to see anything to prove this.
