You know what else? Bev seems to be running her diner BY HERSELF, and putting her daughter through college, AND selflessly feeding lonely outcast beings. I almost suspect that the diner isn't doing very well, but maybe now I'm reading too much into it. In any case, there isn't a more big-hearted character in the whole of Furriston than our she-bruin! (But I'm sure GC and CW have hearts just as big.)
------------------

Shhhh nonono, that's certainly not a good idea rite now! She's doing really well on her own!
I wonder what kind of dark are these creatures. Do they have a glow around or they're "blurry" dark?
I can see no significant furry feature in day 4th's strip, except maybe for the eyes, but I'm more inclined to believe it has more to do with some sort of spirit thing than to furry characteristics themselves.
Is she the elder mother? Has she found her son? Seen him?
Questions, questions! Bev, pleeeease ask them! LOL! No, wait! No! Don't! I actually think the opposite. That the diner is doing okay because she gives food freely and without hesitation. Not that she wouldn't if times were bad, but I'd imagine she'd have at least a second thought about doing such a thing.
Still she does have this tendency to think of others need more than her own.

Well, I'm sure it gets a little lonely where she lives (assuming that her daughter is her only child), but she does have friends around that do care about her and blurt out her secrets.
As for the Shadow People, they seem to be offshoots of the human race as well, although it could be that they pre-date human and furry existance since they seem to be slowly dying out.
I wonder if they are unique to the Furriston area, or are there pockets of them throughout the world.

Her cafeteria does okay. She's not raking in
the money, small places rarely do. But the
cafe's in a good location, and Bev is quite
the self sufficient type, who knows how to

Yes, she is still holding her (you can see the
back of the infant's head) And she is looking
back over her shoulder at the ursine female
who did not survive, the soldiers gathered
over her body.

I think Bev's daughter may have been adopted. The baby resembles the bear which died a lot more than it does Bev. She may have taken the orphaned child after the escape and raised it as her own.
