In the Gene Catlow world, are the people limited to air-breathing vertebrates, or are there fish and insect people too? For that matter, is there any non-sapient animal life?

::snork:: Y'gotta admit, since most of the story is taking place in city streets, tossing in water-residing, gill-breathing creatures would be just a little bit hard.

You'd need somewhere like Venice.

I suppose there must be non-sapient animal life around. After all, the carnivorous-type Furries must eat something.

There are a multiplicity of species both
sentient and otherwise, aquatic, insectovid
and a few more. I want to bring my big story
full circle before I get into those details.
