I'll say what I said at the beginning of the thread:

Cotton, finish your will because you have one half-second to live.

So, Gene, does Tavie shoot first and ask questions later?
I dunno, Elix... I'd tend to think not -
Tavie has had a lifetime of experience in
keeping her feelings under control. It was
one of the longer-running subjects on my
forum as to whether (when she was first seen
in the comic) she had any feelings at all.
Now she... and Marble and Cotton... are in the
middle of a totally unexpected situation.

I must tip my creator's cap (a little bit
ruefully, I must admit) to my co-partner for
giving me a real doozy of a dilemma to deal
with! ^_^

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

WAITTAMINUTE!! Didn't Marble ALREADY know that Cotton was Tavatiana's boyfriend?

There was that strip where they both see Cotton on TV, Tavatiana says,

"Yeah, it's that long-eared boyfriend of mine", and she somehow zaps him.

Oh dear, what will happen now?

Until next time, remember:

Good evening.

Well, I don't know very much about Marble, but I wouldn't put anything past her at this point. Remember, she knew full well about SotS as well, yet she played dumb so Cotton would show her. (Gee, I can't imagine why...)

And the next time you mention a particular strip in the forums, be sure to include a link so we can see what you're talking about.

It will be interesting (to say the least) to see who is more distressed by this development. Will it be Tavatiana or Cotton?

Good evening.

Sorry. It was the second M&T strip, done by Gene, but I can't find it anywhere!

I'll say this for JAM as well as myself:
Thanks, Ekevu!

Gene, I think perhaps you should consider putting at least a couple of those strips on the M&T index. Somewhere apart from the main storyline would be nice.

This would lead to a continuity problem. For example, this strip doesn't match with this; and assumes Marble and Cotton have already met live, which is supposedly not true here.

Yes, I'm aware of that. That's why I suggested that they be listed APART from the main storyline. Just so strips like JAM's won't be as hard to find in the future.

Besides, M&T isn't supposed to be about continuity. It's just something Gene and Scotty are doing for fun (and why else would you make ANY online comic?) Like Scotty just said, forget what they said and listen to what they're saying.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I think. <=)
The 'continuity' (such as it is ^_^) of our
little collaborative comic technically starts
with:
http://www.genecatlow.com/marb_tav/marb_tavie03.gif
at the top of my M&T page. Those others are
the experiments that demonstrated that the
idea had great potential! As far as M&T really
having a space of its own, we're working on
that.

Oh, there'll be plenty of distress on all
sides... but since this is primarily a "what
if" type comic that doesn't have to be taken
*too* seriously, I'm not going to get too
analytical and serious about it, as if this
were to turn into my main comic. It has simply
been made clear that Marble and Tavie are now
both involved with Cotton... and romantic
comedy will now ensue!

At least we now know that Tavie doesn't shoot first and ask questions later. Lucky Cotton. (Though, his facial expression there is priceless.)

Uh oh. That's given me another idea. Look out.

Umm... what might *look* like good luck for
Cotton is only the most momentary of temporary
reprieves there can be. Because, now, he's
right square in the middle of a contention
that he didn't build, but can't get out of.
And he's *really* hoping that Tavie doesn't
try to sift through his thoughts any further...

Well, certainly, he's not out of the game yet. Now he's stuck. But at least he's not dead.

I don't know... It looks to me like Tavatiana may have just stepped over the bounds herself - though it remains to see if either Cotton or Marble will pick up on it. Specifically: "You do realize, Marb, that Cotton is MINE, hmm?"

Marble can't really take too much offense to this, but Cotton needs to sit down with her and have a looong talk about how property right run in a relationship... This is a very dangerous phrase to use about one's significant other, particularly when that s.o. is in the same room.

Although, if that conversation takes place, Cotton needs to be careful. He's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, so to speak, and if he comes on too strong, well, he's got his own actions to answer for. If he plays it right, he's got the leverage to slow Tavatiana down and get her thinking again. Played wrong, they could both - no, all three - get hurt.

In the long run, they'll work this thing out. I just hope the fallout isn't to rough on anyone - I like all three of them.

So do I, and this being a romantic "what if"
scenario, there's no genuine worry. Tavie's
remark about Cotton being hers was half a
statement of their own status, made just as
a matter of record (in the same sense, Tavie
would be "his") and half a defensive move.
Having detected a degree of emotion on Marble's
part that she didn't expect (neither did
Cotton, for that matter) she wants to make it
clear she doesn't plan to give him up just
like that...

The thing is, will he wish he were before
this dilemma is resolved? O_O

Good evening.

Thanks for the links and explanations, guys!!

And to Cotton, all I'll say to him is this:

"LET GO OF HER PAWS, YOU STUPID RABBIT!!!"

Until next time, remember:
