Have a favorite hard-to-find album?

Hey! I wanna play! Ok, I'm currently looking for "the Searchers live at the star club." It's only on vinyl sadly. "The Beatles live at the Hollywood Bowl." and several albums that Tommy Makem made back in the 70's that I never heard about until last week. Besides that I can now say that I proudly own everything by the following people...
The Beatles
The Searchers
Gerry and the Pacemakers
Bob Dylan (Almost.)
The Hollies (The Grahm Nash era.)
The Easybeats
The Dave Clark Five
The Zombies
Swingin' Blue Jeans
Them (With Van Morrison)
Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders
Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas
Everything by Makem and Clancy but not yet on the Clancy brothers or Tommy Makem's solo years.

Man, let's just say I have about 300+ CD's and we'll call it a day.

Over 300 CDs Rory? Careful how you stack them. I have about 100 CDs. I got one of those stacking towers to put them in. Unfortunately, I had it in my room, which has carpeting. I turned my back to pick something up and saw the moving shadow that gave me a sickening feeling in my stomach. The moving shadow was my CD tower, with about 100 CDs, crashing to the ground.

I put the tower upright and surveyed the damage. All 100 CDs survived. The jewel cases however, were a different story. About 29 of them sustained damage, meaning they got cracked.

::Begins to cry:: Including Paul! My Paul McCartney CD "All the Best" had cracks in its jewel case! I had hurt Paul!

Fortunately, I got a hold of myself and realized that although the 29 jewel cases were cracked, they were still usable.

So I stacked them in my CD tower again. But this time, I placed it against a corner of the wall.

I was upset cause it was the carpeting in my room had caused this to happen. But now I consider myself lucky. Imagine what would have happened if the CD tower fell and my floor had no carpeting!

OK, now I have a question for everyone. When you stack your CDs, do you group them by artist?

On my CD tower, I have one section for Monkees only.

I have a seperate CD holder for my Beatles CDs. After what happened to my Paul CD, I moved my four solo Beatles CDs (Lennon Legend, Paul McCartney: All the Best, Best of George Harrison, and Ringo Starr: Blast From the Past) to that holder.

I actually have seen that album at a vinyl record dealer in Denver called Wax Trax. I really should make a trip up there to go through their collections again.

But to answer your question, yes, there was an album. In fact, I believe Pilot had more than one album to their credit.

As a side not, the bassist/singer, Dave Paton, and the guitarist, Ian Bairnson, were later a part of the Alan Parsons Project. Ian even toured with Alan Parsons on their first-ever tour. I got to go see them in Denver!

Why not just get Queen's "A Kind of Magic"? It has most of the songs...

Mmm, yes, but it doesn't have the instrumental stuff. Yes, I know, the instrumentals are available separately, I have that one. But I really want the original album, in part to prove to skeptics that it does in fact exist.

Hi Bill!

Carpeting good.. yep!
You might add a wedge to the bottem front of the tower too, to help prop it towards the wall.. I had a cabinet with probably 1,000 lbs of books on it that stood up for several earthquakes that way *tailfeatherwags*

For filing music, I use a 'genre' system. So oldies in one section, female vocals in another, Beatles in another, and similar categories near each other for a themed connection. I didn't plan it originally, but it worked out that way and helps me find everything pretty well!

I haven't got as good a system for my 45s yet though :>

(wow.. all of the Mindbenders and BlueJeans?!.. neat Rory!)

The 1st release of the Beatles Hey Jude album was originally called The Beatles Again. Mmmm!.... this is a good album
