C'mon, with practise I'm sure you can learn to type, oh, many words per minute, like me, without using numbers. It'll come to you if you try.
I'll have you know that I'm a wicked fast typist. *nod* Ye-ep. Just ask anyone who ever IM'ed with me how fast I am to reply.

120 wpm? *shrug* I don't think I can do that many, but I think it's quite a lot, either case... Can't type quickly on orders, though, just if I'm chatting or writing, and really on a roll. It's fun. *nod* Can't write slash full of numbers, though.
...
More kewl yaoi... Mayhaps. I'll see if I get the other stuff I need to do done, first. Such as boooring job. *yawn*

Alrighty, here I go skating on thin ice again.
DISCLAIMER: This is an opinion. It is nothing more, nothing less. It is not meant as an attack, but as a simple expression of views. I try not to be scathing, but if it comes off as such, well, I'm a jerk, I suppose. Take this with a grain of salt. Or a shaker. Thank you.
First, you don't have to "write like Stephen King"... you just have to write like someone who made it through third grade. 120 WPM? Why? What on earth demands that kind of speed (short of trying to run down a Mustang) in any part of the body, let alone the fingers? This is a message board, not a chat... you can take your time with the posts. There's no reason not to spell the words right- I personally have spent as long as an hour pondering a post (the rant on the Blair Suck Ass Project). You do not need the speed. Alright, so it's easier- it's also easier to just wander around day to day in your underwear and maybe a bathrobe instead of putting on a decent set of clothes. Are you going to walk down the street in your underwear because it's easier, and look at everyone who stares and say "I actually have a great wardrobe back home- this is just easier"? No, I'll bet you won't do that. And even if you did, do you think the people are just going to say "Oh, that makes sense" and go about their business without a second though? Not likely, I'd say. They'll keep staring at you and thinking you're some kind of nut that got loose recently.
There's this thing called eloquence- it's all about picking ~just~ the right words for your thoughts in order to maximize another person's understanding. Haven't you ever paused, in conversation or in typing or whatever, trying to find ~just~ the right word for what your feeling? The English language has over four hundred ~thousand~ words- that's the biggest vocabulary there is. The entire Japanese language has 20,000 Kanji- one-twentieth of our vocabulary. It has more subtlety than perhaps any modern language in the world- which means it's also one of the most expressive. It has such amazing versatility that there are sometimes as many as seven words for just one feeling or thing or idea! Look in a Thesaurus and see how many words there are for 'good'- I know I was amazed. So why don't we all display true intelligence and culture and make use of that lovely subtlety? Is it just so uncool to use correctly-spelled, fully-written words? ~I~ don't think so... but if you want to go on typing like that, you go right ahead. I fully acknowledge that there's not a single person in the world who's obligated in any way to make me happy- In fact, if you were to go even more extreme with it, I would not be miffed. I'd roll my eyes, sure, but I wouldn't say another thing. If you want to berate me for what I'm saying, fine. If you want to laugh me out the door and into the street, fine again. ut this is what I think, for better or worse. Regardless, having said all this, I'll just get off the issue and leave it alone now. Like I said in the beginning, this isn't a personal attack- I'm just ranting about something that gets on my nerves. If it's your style, say so. If you're just too lazy, say so. If you simply like your fingers dancing over the keys so fast they blister from atmospheric friction, then say so. Do whatever you want to, though- it's freedom that I price more than anything.
This is Elemental,
Your prim-and-proper ranting kitty-boy,
And that's all I have to say about that.

Well, like I said, you sure don't have to do it for me- but if it's what you want to do, I'm grateful. Maybe I'm just twisted here, but I find it tough to regard someone as intelligent when their words sound like they're coming out around a mouthful of Rice Krispies or something (mmm... cereal good...) Anyhow, you made my day a little brighter. Woo-cha!
