Honestly, the forums are almost unusable with all the spam. When this happens it's really time to get draconian. Ban IPs. Ban whole dynamic ranges. Ban ISPs if necessary. Typically these things come out of Eastern Europe, so a ban that covers a small geographic region will cut off the flow of spam.
