Good ideas that work out horribly

The idea: Hey, I've got two episodes of Rescue Me still on our DVR. I'll watch them now before I go to bed and then drift into a peaceful slumber.

How it worked out: Fuck no. That episode just stressed me the fuck out emotionally, with one of my favorite characters dying RIGHT IMMEDIATELY before the credits started rolling. We're talking two seconds before. Fuck fuck fuck WORST IDEA OF THE EVENING.

Off to bed now where I will sit there.

What about you all, any failed attempts at propriety?

Since I have nothing but a surplus of time on my hands until school starts, I decided to play the new free version of Everquest II to pass some of my day. Apparently, though, EQII is just as addictive as EQ, and I've spent about half of my waking hours this week running around the Greater Faydark. It's working as a time-waster, to be sure, and it hasn't gotten in the way of my more productive daily activities, like exercise and drawing, and, yeah, I've already leveled to 20. Still, my neck and shoulders are so fucking sore from sitting in the gaming position, I've inflamed the arthritis in my left middle finger from holding down the "w" key, my eyes are fatigued, and I've got a headache. I'd like to say that I'll be taking a break from it tomorrow, but I know that's a lie.

Damn you, Clan Crushbone! Why must raiding your keep be so frustratingly enticing!

The Idea: I'll just stop in at my friend's birthday party, have a drink, and give a present, Cause I had work in the morning

The reality: Flirting and hanging out, caused me to drink way to much, and I went on to the after party with some friends (and this hot polish girl). I didn't get home til 5:30am. Work was not fun.

Dude, the thread title says "work out horribly". Don't be posting unrelated things up in people's threads, it's bad form.

Hot girls are pretty much a daily occurrence(I live in LA)... miserable days at work are miserable.

Apparently, the "Good ideas that work out horribly" topic was a good idea that worked out horribly.

Would yelling out "Allah ahkbar!" just before boarding a plane fall into this category?

Airport people just don't have a sense of humor anymore... :shifty:

I suppose going to three music festivals in a week was not the greatest idea as now I'm behind on my work.

So, thought I would be very clever and get a projector and speaker system for the living room, thus consolidating all of my electronics in the back of the room rather than some up front and some in back.

However, after actually calculating what I would need to fill my needs and desires, the price is just exceedingly high and makes me think I'd just be happier buying a 42in flat panel and going the more conventional route, especially since I leave the apartment in a little over a year. I may not even get the bigger flat panel, I'm rocking a simple 32in right now, since I rarely do more than eat, sleep, and shower in the apartment and almost never have company.

So, all this planning and preparing has pretty much gone to waste, especially since the back of the living room is set up under the premise I was going with the projector method. Fuck it, drive on.

Usually it's prefaced by "Here, hold my beer an' watch this..."
