Whatcha doin'?
We're all so busy these days. Busy with what?
I'm actually making comics. I want to get as much stuff done as I can, before school starts again in six weeks.

Haha Buster, each time you're making comics you have to brag about it!
I'm not actually busy right now, I'm sitting at my family's house and wasting time being that I "forgot" to bring any work with me, including script notes. Mostly working on some songs, but even that between episodes of Haus.

Re: Whatcha doin'?
I'm now the company Executive Officer. I supervise the Commander's supply section and hand receipt, maintenance program, and operations cell; I enforce training and review all paperwork for errors as part of the admin process; I am the Commander when there is no Commander; I am the Commander's bulldog for keeping the Platoon Leaders on track and help mentor people who are doing the exact thing I was doing literally only a few months ago. That's just my day to day duties, I also get tasked with a LOT of stuff.
I am the busiest freaking officer in the Company. And I'm still learning from the outgoing XO, and gradually taking up more and more of his duties.
So, I don't really have time to play.

Trying to get everything done for the handfasting next month, while simultaneously trying to learn the "Thriller" dance. These two things are unrelated.

Re: Whatcha doin'?
Came back a few hours ago from my family vacation, which due to funding this year was a one day campground thingie. It was really nice and good to get away from the house.
Catching up on ~5 missed updates for my comic. Four are completely done, and two more have been inked. I think.. knock on wood but I must have reached some sort of breakthrough because suddenly things are just flowing much more easily. For which I am muchly glad!!
I wish I could take a relaxing bath but I should probably take a shower for to wash away the lake water that I swam in today. Gotta get up at 7:30 tomorrow to go babysit. Making good money so it's worth it. Just wish I could have slept in more.

Re: Whatcha doin'?
I usually don't talk about my life outside of these forums but I suppose I can make an exception this one time. I still live in the San Francisco bay area, though not for much longer. I graduated from college a little more than a year ago and after being unemployed for five months I found a full-time job working for a company that sells teleprompters and LED lights for television and movie productions. I mainly do shipping, quality control, repairs, and keeping stock of merchandise that comes in from China. I'm totally certified to operate a forklift because of my job. Not the most exciting job, but the second week I was there I was sent on business trip to Las Vegas to set up their booth for the NAB show. Most recently they've started me on some light bookkeeping. I'll have that executive skyscraper office in no time!
I do a lot of odd film jobs on the side, most recently some music videos for the band Train (YouTube "Drops of Jupiter"), did lighting for a kid show on the local CW affiliate, some stuff with the new RED camera (way legit moviemaking equipment), and produced and shot some music videos for local signed bands I know. Even though my take-home is pretty decent for someone out of college for one year in this economy I'm quitting my job and starting grad school in about two weeks in the Los Angeles area. I've wanted to move for a while and explore a bigger work market. So, there.

Trying to see people in the limited space of time in which many of them are available.
Also playing too many different games at the same time. The latest addition to my already packed schedule is Monster Rancher DS.

Woo! Guess who won a round in a speed painting contest for miniatures?
Squee!
Although I didn't make it in the final round. But hey, I almost made third.

Re: Whatcha doin'?
YES. NO SECRETS AT ALL!
The whole summer's been kinda wonky, a wave of awful heat, then a wave of rain and cold (this usually during music festivals). We didn't have ten days in a row of summer.Phact0rri wrote:Speaking of disasters, are you getting that heat wave business over there MCD?
