HOLY HELL! Shooter at Rkolter's workplace!
HOLY HELL! Shooter at Rkolter's workplace!
RYAN IS OK. I REPEAT RYAN IS OK. He is NOT one of the injured! He was evacuated 3 blocks away and not in the building where the shooter is presumed located in his workplace. Ryan works in another building on at the plant. I have this information from Ryan himself.

That's terrible! =(
It's a relief that Ryan's ok, but I feel for those that were not so lucky.

Ryan called not too long ago again. He's currently at a police station. He knows of 2 fatalities.
Re: HOLY HELL! Shooter at Rkolter's workplace!
Wow, you always hear about these kinds of incidents, but you never think they could happen to someone you know.
Thank goodness he's okay, but it's still really scary.

I heard about this, came here for news. Glad Ryan's okay. Give him a hug for me, B., and tell him to do the same for you.

Fuck... him was the first I thought about when I heard about this... kept worrying me so I came here to check, just in case...
Glad there was no need to worry, but I feel sorry for those who weren't as lucky
Give him a hug from me when he gets home

It's weird, because just the other night I was thinking of you two, after hearing about returning to the cold. Then this happens. Luckily Ryan was in a different building at the time. But it's still scary.
Re: HOLY HELL! Shooter at Rkolter's workplace!
Ryan got home around 3pm and is now playing with Tristan. Details on our Facebooks and I'm sure he'll post here later.

Re: HOLY HELL! Shooter at Rkolter's workplace!
Hi everyone.
Yes, I'm ok.
I got up especially early for work today due to the snow storm, and got in at 6:15am. The shooter, someone I knew fairly well, started shooting at 6:30am. There are several buildings in this plant; he started in a different building from me. I heard nothing; police were called by one of the people being chased by the gunman.
At 6:45 I needed to hit the bathroom. I left the server room and crossed the front lobby where we have big windows looking out to the parking lot - there was a cop car there. As I saw the cops, they saw me, and dropped behind their vehicle, aimed at me, and shined flashlights at me.
I went... uhm... yeah... I better check this out before they shoot my ass. I went outside and was promptly told to raise my hands, was frisked, and told there were shots fired and to run down the road; along the way we met up with another employee, and they started yelling "COVER THE EMPLOYEES!" There were, oh... 20... people with automatic rifles covering us while we were ushered into a paddywagon.
Over time a couple more employees joined us, they took my badge (it can open the whole plant), and they sent us to a bus, which accumulted about 20 employees, before moving to the police station.
I am now home, I was not injured, and am with my wife and baby. The gunman killed three people (we knew that early on), and himself, and injured 5 others, 3 severely.
One of the killed was a friend; the others were all friendly in one way or another. The gunman was, as you hear on TV, "not the type who'd gun down a bunch of people". Except, he did. So fuck him - I want to hear no remose for him.
It's a hell of a story, and I can tell it for the rest of my life; but I'd trade it for having had a boring day at work instead.

I've never heard of any such case where a guy was described any different.Rkolter wrote:The gunman was, as you hear on TV, "not the type who'd gun down a bunch of people".
