the key is in realising that they are statements from different perspectives. When you act, your actions are much more indicative of your intention than what you say.

However, when someone writes about/gossips about you, the effect can go much further than any actions you can do, reaching people who are clearly ignorant of your existance--what? this isn't supposed to be a serious discussion of implied paradox?
