What screen resolution do you browse the forums with?
Okay, this is an informal poll of what screen resolutions people browse the forums with... not the comicgenesis site itself. I'll have to create a new google analytics tag just for the forums to find out, and it would take several days to get any useful data.
Anyway here's the site-wide answers... keep in mind that not everyone that browses the comics actually comes to the forums.
This is what site-wide says, about 46% have "no answer"
1. 1024x768 17.82%
2. 1280x1024 10.90%
3. 1280x800 8.30%
4. 1440x900 4.32%
5. 1680x1050 3.34%
6. 1152x864 2.14%
7. 800x600 1.30%
8. 1920x1200 1.14%
9. 1280x768 0.94%
Here's recalculated version omitting the 'no answers' and limiting it to the above 9
Width x Height
1. 1024x768 - 35% (4:3 15" LCD or 17" CRT non-wide)
2. 1280x1024 - 21.7% (5:4 17" LCd non-wide or 19" CRT)
3. 1280x800 - 16.54% (16:10 17" widescreen LCD)
4. 1440x900 - 8.6% (16:10, 19" widescreen LCD)
5. 1680x1050 - 6.6% (16:10 21 or 22" widescreen LCD)
6. 1152x864 - 4.2% ( 4:3 17" or 19" non-wide LCD)
7. 800 x 600 - 2.5% ( 4:3 12" LCD or 15" CRT non-wide)
8. 1920 x 1200 - 2.2% (16:10 24" LCD or 17" high-rez laptop LCD widescreen)
9. 1280x768 - 1.8% ( 16:10? 17" LCD widescreen)
So roughly, half the people out there give or take about 10% have screen resolutions that the forum theme is too wide for.

Re: What screen resolution do you browse the forums with?
May I remind Kisai and others here that some of us don't browse websites full screen, hmmm?
Screen rez for me is 1680x1050... or 1920x1200 on the large monitor. However, the web browser's window is at 1024x1032 for damn good reason: the extra space is for terminal windows used for fixing CG!

Yeah, there's no way I'd keep my browser maximized on a widescreen monitor. Reading anything more than a sentence would be a nightmare, my browser's set to a little more than half the width, it's around 850px on a 1440x900 set up.

Re: What screen resolution do you browse the forums with?
I normally use 1024x768, but for the next few weeks I'll be traveling with a laptop that uses 1200x800 (edit: oops, I meant 1280x800) so I voted that way.
And just to be more of a pain (but feel free to ignore this) when I return, due to space limitations I'll be using a widescreen monitor but rotated 90 degrees - effectively making the resolution 900x1440. That'll give me a nice tall window for reading forums and such, but it'll be kinda narrowish.
I don't expect too many people to be doing the same, so like I said - feel free to ignore me...

I use 1280x800 myself, and occasionally a 1280x1024 resolution on another monitor. Egad, there are still some poor souls out there browsing in 800x600? *shudders at the thought*

Re: What screen resolution do you browse the forums with?
My resolution is pretty high but the monitor is big too so I keep the browser window just a little larger than 1024x768.
At any rate, I'm fine with the forum as is. In fact, allowing that I can't compare to the old forum, I'd say this has less wasted space either side of the content, consider that it's probably about the same and are therefore not sure what people are complaining about.
'Course I don't view it on a small, low-res monitor.

I use two different screens depending on the computer I'm on:
1280x1024 or 1400x900 - in either case, I use full screen browser, but keep the favorites bar open on the left side, eating up about 15% of the screen.

I used to use 800x600, but changed it to 1024x768 a couple of years ago. My dad hates it because everything on the screen is so tiny.
Re: What screen resolution do you browse the forums with?
1024x768 with fullscreen browser for me, and the forum fits purrrrrfectly.

Thats quite an interesting topic, because i assumed with monitor size increase and newer graphics cards - most people would be using a minimum of 1280 x 1024 for pcs and 1280 x 800 for laptops...Or is it just me that likes to squint at my screens?

Re: What screen resolution do you browse the forums with?
I used to use 1600x1200 with my crt. Sadly, my LCD's native res is "only" 1280x1024.
Like a lot of people, I don't "do" full-screening.

I'm also a 1024 X 768 - but my web stats tell me that resolutions are rising unlike stock futures...

I'm apparantly very strange; my monitor is 1280 by 960. I listed it as 1280 by 800, since it's the closest.

ok, I took a screen shot of how I am normally looking at the windows I have open and on my 1280x1024 monitor, my internet browser is sized to 786x810.
