It's too bad that Penny Arcade's got a bad rap for all the crappy video game comics it has inspired, because there's really a lot of good things to learn about pacing a joke, writing dialogue or drawing characters that can be learned from PA.

i tend to enjoy PA more when they actually have continuity rather than random jokes, there are of course some of their random jokes i really love but i found a recent storyline that spanned like 6 comics far more entertaining than a lot they've had recently.

Yeah, I love the short series more than the usual fare.

Of course, I always feel a little weird about talking them up since I didn't really delve into things until they linked me twice.

I like Penny Arcade. I give them a ton of credit for the improvements that have been made in the art over the span of the comic, despite the times they've copied and pasted a comic together.

That's right. I can't even begin to count the number of times that I've seen a big mean admin destroy a thread, using nothing but a river otter.

So cute, so disarming... so deadly.

I don't trust otters.

"And I personally will crack his skull open on my tummy!"

I prefer sea otters, though, since they are larger and therefore deadlier. Plus anything that lives in the ocean is scary.

The name is kinda cool sounding...but the thing itself is kinda creepy.
