I pretty much eat, sleep and breath my comic and my own delusions of a career as a writer and artist. So my comic IS my life, so with that regard....no I don't put it off :P

Seriously, if I'm not doing my comic, then I'm reading literature on how to write better, draw better, or make a successful living on art. If I'm not doing that, then I'm watching something to gain ideas about writing (my current fave show is the Office and I definitely want to start writing stories on that level of wit.)

I have dreams of making it big being a writer/artist or a consultant on writing and art. I dont feel bad at all for spending an obsene amount of time improving my craft and creating the art I want to create. But don't get me wrong, I do hang out.....er, once in awhile. And I ate some spaghetti with a girl I want to hook up with...so that has to count for something....right?

I don't think anybody ever "makes it" in comics (or any other creative field) without putting what must appear to observers as an obscene amount of time into their craft. So if you're content for comics to be a hobby, then, by all means, allow "life" to be a priority.

If you want it to be more than a hobby, however, you gotta live and breathe it. Life is what you do in between creating comics. And not for very long, either. You got another deadline coming up, dammit.

Check me out, acting like I know something because I lucked into Keenspot.
