KABOOM! COMIC WORDS!

Post by Ashy_mashy »

Hey guys, I'm looking to make a directory of all the action words out there that relate to comics. It could help when trying to think of words to use in your comics. Post any action words you can think of, here are some that I can remember:

BOOM!
KABOOM!
BANG!
BOOF!
POW!
KAPOW!
BLAM!
KABLAM!
ZZZZAAP!
VRRROOOM!
SHRANGG!
BOING!

FZEEW! is the common word I use for Lightbringer's energy blasts, essentially my equivalent for Nightcrawler's BAMF!

Pang is also the default Swedish onomatopoetia for a gun going off (or any sort of decently small explosion). I could say it's Swedish for "Bang".

Ratata is the same for an burst of machinegun fire, add more ta's to increase the lenght of said burst.
Så länge skutan kan gå, så länge hjärtat kan slå, så länge solen den glittrar på böljorna blå...

How about this one: TIC-TIC-TIC (emblazoned over a bomb, because we know all bombs tick, right?)

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"
