In regards to the forums:
- spamming the forums with unsolicitied sales pitches.
(everything is a unsolicited sales pitch if it asks for money)
- spamming the forums with any non-CG/non-Keenspot promotions not cleared by STrRedWolf, Kisai, or Mercury Hat (most are OK'ed -- we want you to ask).
In regards to ComicGenesis, you may -NOT- put a competing ad service (ie google ads and whatnot) on your site. Other types of ads I believe you are supposed to ask Chris Crosby if they replace existing ads (see Ghastly), other than that advertising other webcomics on a webcomic site isn't that much different than just linking to them, but... I don't know. Maybe I should forward this to Teri & Co and find out.

Oh sorry. My bad. I'll just go sulk in shame in a corner.

Yeah, it is. I don't think that person is a part of comic genesis though...although how that has any bearing on the "zero tolerance for ad posts", I'm not sure.
Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around
Oh Narcissus you petulant child admiring yourself in the curve of my eyes/Oh Narcissus you angel beguiled unsated by self you do nothing but die

Man, I wish people would give ME money. That would be excellent.
Combustible Orange is the best comic in history.

I protest my innocence! When I posted about the sponsor buttons I thought it was ok, I remember that back in the day good ole Ghastly used to have fantastic sales pitches about his ad space. I also cleared it in irc, and was told it would be ok. I think. Maybe I dreamed this last part.
I appreciate that rules have changed (or become more strictly enforced) and that nobody likes spam etc. but allow me to say that I have the impression that at the moment these forums are occasionally overmoderated. Back when I was on keenspace the forums kicked ass, I never noticed a downward trend that would justify an iron fist, but maybe I've missed something. Don't exaggerate, or people will be too scared to post!
