Every time something goes wrong in this country, the first thing people say is "Oh, that's it! I'm moving to Canada!"
Just something I noticed....

No, I live in Minnesota - the coldest place on earth. Someday I'll live in Hawaii, the most extreme weather... but usually warm. ^_^

That's awesome! Sounds like a hurricane from down here! Mind, we usually get moving trailer parks and the like...
Canada sounds better and better!

I've seen a car's hood get blown off on the highway. Luckily, I wasn't behind it.

Where I was living it hit -51 celcius last year.
Coldest my ass.
It also piqued 40 celcius one summer, too.
Normally each year it hits 35 and -40; that's 75 degrees celcius difference. Now
that's extreme.

Another Minnesotan, eh? That's cool. You should join the rest of us at the next "Frozen North" get-together in the Twin Cities.
Minnesota is the US' Canada. We even have the accents.

*Sigh*
Since until recently, all the root nameservers that made it possible to actually surf the 'net were located exculsively in the U.S. and run by U.S. companies. There's a movement somewhere to move the servers out of the U.S. and give control of them to the U.N.

Oh, yah der. Yah, mebbe it's a good idea der to get together with others for a get-together for a change. It's different, ya know?
Hmmm... it's harder to write in Minnesotan than it is to speak it...

That, to me, sounds like a very bad idea. Because wouldn't that give the FCC controle over what goes across those govenment cables?
And I am not too terrible afraid of this bill. Stuff like this has been proposed before but it never seems to go anywere.
(What was the last proposed bill that had us all in a panic? Was it the FCC controling calble thing? I can't even remember anymore.)

I'm sure that's asking if I speak Norweigan or the languages of the various other Scandinavian country, but sadly I don't know for sure. ^^;; As such, I can only answer that while some of my family is of Norweigan descent, my language skills are limited to English and a little Latin. ^^;;

Most places in Canada are pretty cold in the autumn and winter, but some places are pretty good, weather wise. Such as southern Ontario.
Of course, it also depends on your definition of cold. A lot of people where I live are stupid pussies complain that 0 degrees is "SO COLD".
Anyway, boo to this internet-destroying bill.

It's never *that* bad around here. It was actually a fairly mild winter this year in the Fake London... Although I have some friends who came to UWO from just a couple of hours south, and they complained incessantly about the weather. OMG snow in April?!
Oh, and to be on-topic, I'm not particularly worried about that. Massive protests would likely end it.

goodness, I really doubt they do much of anything in terms of regulating the internet. They could make us pay for routing, or something. *sniff sniff* mandating enterprises... is this socialism I smell?

If you don't like how cold America is, just move to Florida. That's not part of America, right?
*Goes to public school*
Anyway, thanks for scaring me. I was afraid I'd get a good night's sleep tonight.
