Just curious.

Post by Sorcery101 »

My comic Sorcery 101 is going to be a year old in a few months. And I was wondering for the amount of time it has been up is about 1500 uniquic visits a day good, bad, or average?

Depends what you mean by good, bad and average.

For a comic genesis comic that's good. It puts you into the top 50.

There are a lot of comics out there, and some have attained masses in short spaces of time. Examples would be comics like the Noob (which is about 18 months old I believe, and clocks around 20k visitors), Goblins (almost a year old and number 4 on CG currently).

But on the whole I'd say you're ahead of the curve on popularity, there are thousands upon thousands of comics and I doubt many make it past the "my parents read it" stage.

I'm approaching my third year and am thrilled to have 160 or so on average show up daily.

You're doing fine.

I'll be pushing two in a few months, and I'm only now starting to get about 75 a day...

In three years, I get 1/3 your hits per day. Isn't your time online supposed to multiply your hits, not divide them? :-?

My comic was online for 2 years, and only broke 100 uniques a day twice. Take that for what you will.

I'm glad my silly little comic has made you happy even without you having read it.

I've seen Sorcery101 mentioned out on the net, in places that have no connection to Comic Genesis. I think that's also a measure of how well you're doing.

My comic will be one year old next week, and I only get 100 visits a day... What's your secret? xD

Ok, I know your comic is very good (I'm a reader :shucks:), but there are dozens of good comics (including mine... hahahaha, it's a joke XD) hidden in the shadow, unknown for the readers.

So... your secret, please? xD

Um....well....I bought an ad on Misfile and one on Dominic Deegan. Other than that I have posted on a few forums and had a Sorcery 101 banner in my signature. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.

Internet popularity is a strange beast. Some people play all sorts of advertising and fan art to large comics and never take off, others take off without any help at all. Good art and story tend to help.

I only get 10 unique hits per day on average. I like to think that I have a small but dedicated readership. My only problem is to get them to critique/comment on me.

BD has been online for two years now and my unique hit record is 50 during one day. New readers would be nice but I just feel odd ranting about my comic somewhere.
