Celabratory Activities

Post by Sam_Charette »

Well, in about a month's time Anything Goes will officially be a year old, and that's gotten me to thinking... what should we do to celebrate?

I could ask for fanart/guest strips, but I'd prefer that people do that because they want to, and not because it's our anniversary. What we've decided on thus far is:

1) 3 comics the week of our anniversary instead of the usual 1 and
2) Every day next month we're going to put up a little piece of trivia about us/the comic (not as in we ask you, but more as in "here's something you might not know")

What does everyone else do? I know most people ask for the art/guest strips, but has anyone else decided to take a different approach?

Send bills for everyone who's read your comic up to this point telling them the free trial year is up and now they have to pay for what they've been reading.

I just posted a mention and suggested that, if you were a reader of the strip, then feel free to send a gift art present. The ones I received were generally pretty cool and you could tell that, if they weren't regular readers, they had read through enough to capture the feel of the characters.

At first I thought this topic said "celibatory activities," in which case I would suggest watching reruns of MacGyver while eating nachos.

I did the guest strip fan art thing, but mostly cause i knew i would be really busy around that time. I also did for the actual aniversary a comic with a ton of cameos of people who've been helpful and supportive over the last year.

I haven't ever actually asked for fanart or fan comics ever, because after 100 comics I kinda stopped keeping track of milestones anymore.

I never really request anything, I usually also like to get fanart because the artists wanted to make it on their own and I never really use guest strips. I guess I just celebrate alone lol.
