I read through his comic on Girlamatic when the archives were free that one time. I kept meaning to go back and read it every update, but I forgot and now I'm too far behind

That's the tough part about locking your archive. Most people don't remember to check EVERY time a comic updates. I tend to check my comics about once a month and do bulk-reading. Tough business.

Graphic Smash is also taking submissions. Just mentionin', not sure if I'd ever do it.---Al

This bothers me! ...why don't they spring for a scanner for poor Erika, instead of leaving that up for months.
I wonder if I can convince them that Toy Division is post feminist?

I remember meeting a guy who was a GirlAMatic member. As long as your content isn't the least bit offensive to women, I'm guessing. That already disqualifies all the comics wherein the only female character is flat.
On the inside.
It's not just comics by women, and definitely not just comics for women (I for one like a bulk of those). I think they're looking for female sensibility.

Heh, I was thinking, if someone doesn't bother to check the comic once a week (knowing that if he doesn't he'll miss out on pages) then he probably wasn't that interested in the first place.
But it's tougher to get new readers unless they're subscribers, definitely.
This is all WCN effect, given the fridom to do so, many MT artists decided to move their comics to WCN and make them free. That's why there are open spots for MT sites.

Given that a scanner can be had for $40 (or much less if you'll
go used,) she should just buy one instead of begging.
Especially for a subscription site.

Oh I agree- I think it looks terribly unprofessional to have that up on a subscription site for months.
(she wasn't begging for a scanner though- she just mentioned that it was broken)

I think it's hilarious that she cannot afford a scanner. She's grown with a job, isn't she? Plus, they can be pretty cheap if you shop around smartly. If she can afford art supplies and such, she can afford a scanner. Some art materials are like 10 dollars for certain pens and stuff. Save buying 4 pens and bam, you got yourself a scanner.
Of course, I can't say anything. I STILL don't have Photoshop anything. Although I have the money now to buy it off of Ebay....
college fees......?
Photoshop 7......?
OH, THE DECISIONS!!!!

Well I don't know her personal financial situation and it's none of my business how Erika spends her money.
What I do know is that she is a full time student and an amazing cartoonist.
I have to admit though if I was running a subscription site I would help the cartoonist out so she could start producing for me again!
(I'm lucky in that I don't use a scanner

, or art equipment)

i think GAM is silly. Girls are silly. Prettysenshi, you are silly for craving to be a part of the paper world simply to be there. Also, their guidelines making you read a book is silly.
(this post is silly.)

I guess that's true. It isn't our business how she spends her money. So, I'm here to say that I apologize to Erika for my words if they came across harshly. However, what I do know is that she really should find a way to scan again. Someone in the forums suggested to me that I should use a scanner in the library when I don't have a scanner of my own. Maybe she should try that, if her school library has one.

Oh I know!- that would make an awesome name for a brothel or a realdoll store and repair center

It does remind me of a scene in "Adventures of John Difool" where he picks various parts of the girl on anautomate in brothel.

Also, Girlamatic gives you cooties. It says so in their ad copy! So if you're a male creator wanting to give GAM a go, take your cooties shots first.
