Yeah, your archive is behind the subscription wall, except for the newest comic and a free sample of some sort. You get paid, but not much unless your comic is very popular. So it goes.Odd1 wrote:Err, what kind of advantage is there to being a Girlamatic artist? I'm guessing you may get paid. But the call for submissions really doesn't mention anything about the member rules. They lock up your archive, and whatnot?

Archives became members onny, you get paid some, I suppose you can say that you get some exposure since GAM is not an unknown site, and in the end you became a member of Modern Tales family. I'm not sure what's the policy concearning WCN and whether new artists will still get free WCN account like the old ones.Odd1 wrote:Err, what kind of advantage is there to being a Girlamatic artist? I mean, I reccomend it, being a part of Graphic Smash is a very interesting experience, there's a lot of small rewards and after all, it's a step toward being one of the big guys (and I suppose being a part of Girlamatic isn't very different). Of course, besides comic on GS, I do other comics that are availagle free, and I'm not sure whether I would like to have a comic locked behind membership if it was the only comic I was doing.
Eh, locking your comic so that only those that subscribe can see? Not very appealing to me.mcDuffies wrote:Archives became members onny, you get paid some, I suppose you can say that you get some exposure since GAM is not an unknown site, and in the end you became a member of Modern Tales family. Interesting...but I think I'll never put my comic under subscription...first, because I'm very, very slow...second, because I won't be making a living out of it. It's just a hobby.

I will try this when the thing is finished. They are printed as they are ordered online, so it is free.
You mean, publising in paper?I would still like to join.. They might do publishing, where I won't have to pay. It'll put me up there as a smallpress creator, which is cool. I'd love that. sigh....but I still have to wait an entire year to submit...darn 18+ rule. I'm mature!!!!

I remember meeting a guy who was a GirlAMatic member. As long as your content isn't the least bit offensive to women, I'm guessing. That already disqualifies all the comics wherein the only female character is flat. On the inside.rkolter wrote:Anyone else notice those submission guidelines don't specify that you have to be a girl to work for GirlAMatic?
