What kind of articles are you looking for? Maybe if you had a monthly theme going on, it would be easier for people to make ideas for your newsletter.

Just a thought.

August will be the first "themed" month so far, the theme being "Hot August Nights"

... ie, about the creation and ideas behind adult webcomics and the like. If it goes well, I expect we'll have more themed months after that.

I write all the time since I take journalism. Maybe I could write something?

I'm fine with writing.

I'd love to write something. If you're willing to assign me a topic, I could do it easy. If you want me to think up something on my own, it becomes a tad more difficult, but I could still do that.

Do we just up and write something? Or do we wait until we're given something to write?

You can write something, although it's nice to let us know =]

Alternatively you can post in the forums asking for an article to write.

I'm a pretty good writer...but I'm not sure what you'd want me to write about exactly.

We're pretty much fine with anything and everything comic related. We've got our quota of non-comic related articles with rkolter's science corner, for fyi for anyone reading this.

I said I'd write something a while back... I'm really sorry.... I've just got, seriously, buckets of work to get done as it is. After August though, do poke me!

There are some interviews, right? I think that would be fun to do.

Hmmmn. This is right up my alley (*), but I don't think I have the time.

* Get your minds out of my gutter.

The "what to write" problem seems to be our biggest obstacle around here... It pains me to say I have no clue what to do about it. I was kinda hoping the LSD induced brilliance around here could work it out. But since that isn't happening I'll try to answer this myself.

Short answer: Start doing drugs. I hear the religious expiereinces can be quite inspiring.

Long answer: Use your imagination. If it is in any way a possible topic for an article then go ahead and write about it. Anything can be turned into an informative essay about webcomics with the right spin. I was thinking of writing about the various comic cliches that plauge comics of every type. That right there has the potential to provide material for months on end with the right elaboration. I doubt I would be able to pull it off unless I treated it like some sort of school project. But then I would procrastinate and then rush to finish it and turn it in without even stapling the pages together...

And if your strapped for time then consider just being a freelancer. If your article takes longer to finish don't worry. You can submit work whenever you feel like it. (not that our full time writers worry about that anyway.. :P )

:-? But what Newsletter really needs is writers who will write more than two articles before they go on indefinite writing hiatus with "Sorry, I couldn't think of anything to write this month either."

What to write? Check names of forum threads here. There are some good topics that you could write about.

So what I'm hearing is, 'You can be a freelancer, but we don't really want those.' :)

No, because I am just a writer, not a boss. My words aren't official statements of the Newsletter.

But we have a lot of people who are signed up as regular writers yet don't write regulary. I mean, there's a whole bunch of people involved and then it turns out an empty issue where half of articles were done by Netpoet anyway. I don't really wanna prosecute anybody, after all this is all on voluntary basis, but I wouldn't like to see newsletter bite the dust either. :(
