What I'm not down with is getting trash talked because I chose keenspace as my webcomic host. . .
You know who is to blame for this trash talking? The Star Bellied Sneeches! We should all put stars on OUR bellies. That will show THEM.

See, the thing about arguments like "There are crappy comics on Keenspace so Keenspace is crap" is that they can show you the ugliest example they want, and while it's perfectly valid in terms of the overall quality of Keenspace strips in general, it doesn't apply to any single artist in the slightest. Is it YOUR comic they're presenting as an example of Keenspace's suckiness?

Calling one person's comic le suck just because some OTHER comic hosted on the same servers is le suck in one person's opinion is below moronic, and if somebody came to ME with that kind of attitude, I'd politely tell them to stop reading my comic.

I realize that there's a certain number of people who might ignore a comic just because of where it's hosted, but those few really don't have much of an effect on anything except to spread negative views around with no particular purpose. After all, if you advertise for your comic, people see an ad for your comic, not just a comic on keenspace.

Even if the so called Keen stigma were removed, there's the little stigma that hangs over every webcomic for being on the internet, and even if that were defeated, there's the little stigma that hangs over every comic for being a comic, and then . . . uhm. . .

There's a certain number of people who will shit on anything for any reason given the opportunity.

These people are called critics. There are two ways of dealing with them. One is to simply ignore them.
The other involves a silver cross, garlic, and a stake. And possibly holy-water.

Actually, the only thing that works is holy water. Simply because ANY bathing helps the smell go away.

These people aren't anything near critics. Critics are people who read/see a lot of stuff among what they critique, and then try to pass as objective evaluation as possible - seeing that the man is subjective by nature. The thing is, critics have seem more of that stuff than an average man, so they are more picky than the average person. So if it happens that the critic criticized something you like, it is definitely not because they like to bask on everything or whatever you might think.
Saying that all critics are bashers is as much unfair as saying that all Keenspace sucks.
