Seriously, out of thousands of so-so comics Bruno the Bandit is all the way down at 280-something?
U! is number 700?
8:1 is 500?

I guess popularity really ISN'T everything.

Where did you find those numbers? As far as I can see, 8:1 is 53 on the Guide, and if I'm not wrong, Bruno the Bandit is on Spot now?

Give me your soul, and I'll see about changing those numbers around a little. Trust me.

It was a very nice comic, first comic I found keenspot through actually,
but after a while it kinda lost something that made it so special...

Perhaps later on I'll try to look into the archive again.

It has gotten a bit random as of late. A little to sitcomish, I think. Hmm... yeah, around the part where he married Ella things got crazy. But there's still a lot of cute bits, like how Tyler kidnaps his kid and ransoms her for beer money.

Well, popular comics need to be:

1. Good
2. Good in advertising, bringing in new readers
3. Pushing the button of the public (not in a bad way, I mean talking about things that clicks with audience).

Well, Krazy Kat, one of greatest comics of all times, was near shutting down throug it's entire life. But Herst liked it so he kept it in his papers until author died.

TWL= thewebcomiclist.com
The ranking only reflects how many people clicked on the link on TWL to visit your comic. and how many people marked your comic on their favorite list at TWL. It is impossible to tell how many people just book mark the comic themselves and not to bother finding it on TWL the next time they visit. TWL ranking doesn't reflect the real popularity of any given comic.

Who cares about guides?

The tier is unique ips you average in a day:

0-2000
2000-5000(sadly my bracket for now)
5000-9000
10,000-20,000

and then 20,000 plus

If someone is feeling blue because he's ranked 700 somewhere, he could stand on his head and it would look like 007! Now how awesome is that!?

I mean, sure, it would be really cool to be popular... but right now, I don't feel like taking the time/money to advertise. A link banner in my sig is as much promotion as I'm willing to do at this time.

I'm not willing to spend money just to try and increase my comic's popularity. I'll spend a bit of time--making banners, newsbox, signing up with comics lists, putting up vote buttons and the like--but not more tangible costs.

Dollars to hits is just not a good cost/benefit for me. Now, if I were getting donations on a regular basis or enough hits where ad revenue might be significant, that equation could change. But for the time being, there's no point in worrying about it.

Yeah I refuse to spend one penny to advertise my comic these days.

It's not how many people read your comic...

...its how much money you can scam out of each person that reads you comic.
