Guys while I don't have time atm to participate for this issue, I'm now the proud owner of issue 1 and it looks fantastic. Ping gave it to me yesterday at the UK comic con, and it rivals in quality the stuff I saw on the stands, congratulations

It's only one page - to clarify, since some people are putting in bids for two or more.
I think one page will work better for me too, actually. Plus, if Pimpette does only one page, and doesn't object to being stuck with me on the other side of the fold, that evens things out so there's not a random one-pager all by itself.
Question: Am I allowed to use the old Mastercard Priceless joke, or will we get sued? If I can't use that, I think I'll just be doing one page as well.
Though I'm fairly certain they can only sue if they can prove I diluted their copyright or seduced funds away from them or something, and since this sampler is free I don't think that's an issue. I wanted to check first, though.

If you don't mention Mastercard itself, I'm all but certain there can be no way they can sue you. You can't copyright combinations of words in sentences.*
Excellent. Inking and scanning still to be completed, I'll hopefully have posted this by the time I go to bed, but if not I'll get it up after school tomorrow.

Also, I think that this is true: If you make under 500 dollars (american) with the product, it doesn't matter. And if you are parodying it, it is especially ohkay because you are an artist and it is art.
The department head here told me during a portfolio review because I had made a big 'Aliens' thing in Maya. I dont know the specifics, but she said that unless it was changed enough that it was obviously satirical in nature I was in danger of being sued if I ever tried to use that piece in a portfolio or job interview.
She also said that if you use elements of a trademark but add enough of your own touches that it is distiguishable at a glance it would be legal also.
note: PMBalls is not a legal professional. His name has 'balls' in it.
I can't believe I didn't see this until now. I really want to be in on this, does anyone want to summerize for me what we need to do? (size, length, color or not, etc.)
Or I can read through it tomorrow, I'm too sleepy right now.
So I draw a 2-3 page self contained comic at 3000X4500, save as a PNG, and email it to whoever is in charge? I dont have to do my own printing, or do I?
