Pimpette wrote:Me?
My avatar started out being Pimpette, the main character of my comic, but I got several comments that my drawings of myself look remarkably similar to the way I draw Pimpette - I figured this was just because all my characters look the same if their hair is the same, but eh.
And of course I take on alternate personalities on forums. We all do - it's more fun that way.
Actually, the same as me actually. Stryker (the android currently hiding behind the captain keenspace cowl) is a character from my comic who looks a lot like me. Actually I remember some of the people from the St. Louis Cookout mach one mentioning this fact.

Though on my behalf.. if you can't tell I love robots, and automation. Its actually a really bad stereotype(and in my case a very correct one) about kids who are into Electronic music loving robots and stuff. A lot of the kids I know call themselves Cyborgs, as thier minds are all electronic when they think of making thier music... but I've always had a fondness for androids (or why would I have one in comic eh?)

*beeps a bit and looks around*

Yes, you are all freakin' nuts!

My avatar changes too much for me to feel any personality linkage between it and myself.
Though I suppose all of the ones I have reflect my personality in some way.

I change so many times.

...so I must be eclectic.

Be proud of your pointy ears! As 50% of the Keenspace forum's pointy eared population, I say embrace your pointyness!

I'm an asshole, I don't think I've ever had an avatar accurately depict that, or try to make one do it, I let my asshole-ness come thru in my posts

EDIT: now that I changed my avatar back to Idea Man, my avatar DOES reflect how I'm an asshole

yeah, I look like my avatar, especially the way that Bob drew it! :) I have long shaggy hair, i slump over a little, and I always have a smug sarcastic look on my face.

...when I'm not kicking ass and taking names, that is.....

Since I have no idea what this thread is asking, I'll just briefly describe my avatar's history because I feel like it:

First ever avatar came from all the way back in 1998 at Planet Half-Life. Since I couldn't draw, I adopted a character I liked instead. The choice wasn't completely random, I used to read Redwall (ugh) and kinda' worked out that my British family would be hares (military family) if they ever appeared in the book (no idea how to incorporate my Malay family - bloody English book - practically lumped everyone past Europe as lizards and heathens). I was young, I'm not responsible for what I did with my childhood.
Anywho: My first ever avatar. Awwwww. Here's a bigger picture of ZJ I later coloured - used with permission and all that.

He's one of J.Axer's older characters, an inverted version of that cyborg lass. After using him for a year or two I really couldn't shake him off, and, well, ya'know, here I am, still the blue bunny.
Czar wrote:I'd say no.

But then again, my avvie is a pick of me.
Drilling disengagement from a superior enemy force.
With first aid gear on my back.
Funny, I don't feel like squad medic on the forums I visit.
Sure, it's a combat zone but that's normal, no?

Remember: Keep moving, stay low and stay alert.
Tell me when you get issued your kevlar lid. SO I CAN KILL YOU FOR IT. BWAHAHAHAHA!

No really, tell me.

I think the idea is to confirm or deny whether you act like a tea-obsessed blue rabbit.

Oh wait - do we relate to our avatars? I wonder. I wonder... That's really up to you guys. I think avatars just add to whatever you post, ya'know, like a face and an emotion, of which mine would be most accurate, all hail LE TH

Actually, I usually use a clip of my comic's MC as my avatar. And except for the fact that Lucy's blond and short, and I'm neither (red and tall enough for my seventh-grade english teacher to talk me into doing Basketball that year) she does look a LITTLE like me. Unintentionally, of course.

Right now my ava is my pirate from the pirate or ninja thread. She was my first exparament with artwork done totally on the computer, and she turned out so nice I want to hold on to her for a while. There's a pretty good chance I'm going to write a story about her, either just text or another comic.

...but only if I'm insane that day.

Mine right now is Kristan from my comic. She's loud, tough and uncouth. I'm quiet and nerdy. I think that's why she's one of my favorite masks.

Also: It's sort of amazing that I've never had a cat persona, because I am really really catlike, and my name is Kat.

Dispite the fact that I do act like a cat in more ways than I should, the avatar I ended up with actually came out of a game of Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory. I was playing online, and used a few different nicknames there. Picking names to use on online games is difficult for someone like me. I want a name that lets people know I'm a girl, but still doesn't come across as some giggly ditz who doesn't know which end of a mouse is up. Well, that second half normally solves itself after they see me play for a few minutes. So. I thought, and for some reason, the name/word 'kitty', which generally is something you wouldn't see a guy use in a wargame mixed with the title of another game I'd played not too long ago. Twisted Metal: Black. The result?

KittyKatBlack.

From then on, it's the only name I use. Cause it rocks. The avatar was drawn to match the name, and KKB was born.

But as for actually taking on traits of our avatars, I've always been very catlike. I sleep a lot. I'm lazy. I don't fetch. I've been known to lie on the floor in the sun for no apparent reason. I like to eat, and I'm easily entertained. Oh, and I love being petted. (Tummy rubs rock.) Oh, and my favorite type of food is fish.

So... Mew.
