I use the normal mix of upper and lowercase.

When I started my comic, I wasn't aware (or didn't catch on) that you're supposed to use all uppercase for readability, etcetera. So... I didn't.

Now it's too late to turn back. All caps look loud and noisy in my comic.

I do however, find them readable in other strips.

In fairness, normal caps work better with Comic Sans MS, because the letters are fairly wide anyway.

My font's a very thin one, and the letters look tiny in lowercase.

I haven't tried it yet. But I think I'll try next november. =)

I think I made it because most of November consisted of REALLY sucky days. It went like "Ok, I'm awake. Let's see what today's gonna be like. (spends a few minutes talking to random family members) Ok, it's gonna suck, I can tell already. I think I'll spend today typing."

Having no life REALLY helps the NaNo totals.

Actually, I think using small caps is a good alternative for someone who wants to maintain the legibility of caps, but feels like ALL CAPS is too overpowering for their style.

I go the all caps route because that's the comics standard, it's easy to read, and it doesn't look too shouty in my font. But I'll break into lowercase if a certain emotion or onomatopoeia calls for it.

OoOOoh, those caps! Sorry, I completely didn't think of them. Sorry. Small caps are pretty cool, very cool in fact. Like Roman scripture - which, as everyone knows, is uber cool, especially when coupled with space and futureness. Space Romans. Yeah.

So, small caps, that's what they're called? Heh, I've used them in design pretty often but I never knew the name. Hmmm, I may contemplate their use for future comics... But only for design, not sure how they'll work in dialouge. I'm too used to the Times New Roman standard in printed books when it comes to dialouge.


Strange how a lot of us stick to what we think is traditional. It looks like those of us who have an interest in comics like to use all caps, and those who are more interested in literature stick to a mix, heh, strange.

I made it this time mainly because of Sethmire Quickhoof, a fun little satyr character who succeeded in breaking my writer's block several times. Yay for Seth. As a reward, Seth gets to be in Thespiphobia.
