It is true. Actually scientists have had far more luck using two female eggs. In fact depending on if the human cloning restrictions are lifted in much of the known world it could be possible within our lifetimes. Turns out, if I remember correctly, you can make a whole baby from two women's DNA, as in, no male DNA needed, using techniques similar to cloning.
