Once you have a moderator for your forum are they always gonna be your moderator?? What if they havent been on for like 2 years??

Depending on how they do it here, phpBB has the capacity to remove someone's moderator status. If you have the power to grant mod status on your forum, you will have the power to remove it. If you have to ask them to make someone a moderator of your forum, then you'll have to ask them to remove it, but it's easy to do.

It happens here. Some of moderators are very rarely here, posted not more than a few posts in last few years. I have actually never seen one person listed as moderator here, posting on any of these forums. But I guess that goes for being mom of important people. :wink:

Um, but in given situation, I guess you should contact that person and ask him if he actually still wants to be mod. But first you have to assign a new mod. Forum needs to have a mod who visits it at least occasionally. By Murphy's law, as soon as mods turn back to forum, some sh*t is gonna happen there.

In phphBB, the site admin simply turns off the mod status. I suggest that mods be faceless numbers so there wont be any accusations of conflict of interest when someone with an axe to grind againts them gets edited.
