Halloween is my favorite time of year 'cause of the costumes too! At college there was this one guy who had a TEN-FOOT tall Optimus Prime costume that he built himself. He was so tall that my girlfriend (5'3") could walk right under his legs.

I'm curious how he could create the legs like that. I think he must have used painter's stilts. stilts with three legs that you strap to your calves.

I had thought about that too, especially last year, handing out candy and watching the kids make their rounds. With Christmas, we can offer some level of balance with the whole religious aspect/peace on earth stuff, but with Halloween, it's all about the GREED.

Sure, but to put it really over the top, he should've been able to transform!

If I had time and materials, I would get dressed as Ayane from Dead or Alive ^_^V

Why wait till Halloween to dress up? I do that every time I go to work...

I dress up as a school teacher.

Funny story- one year I went to a party as a ninja, but had broke my leg about a fortnight before. It was an interesting result. I was in plaster up to my thigh, on crutches, and dressed like an idiot.
FYI I broke it trying to do the splits off two walls whilst juggling. And thats not a lie.

back in highschool, we could wear costumes as long as we stayed in dress code. Which is freakin stupid unless you wannte be a preppy looking for holloween. I haven't really cared since then as a result.

2 years ago I wore a blanket and a plastic sword, calling myself an urban ninja. Last year Iwas lazy, so I went as an emo kid. I wore horn-rimmed glasses and cried a lot.

I'm gonna be Jaffa warrior, yo. Kree! KREE, I say! Heheheh. How many people are gonna try and be their own comic characters?

I've been a Crow (From The Crow), a vampire, Zorro, a ninja, a ghost, and this year...

I'm going as a tape despenser. Easiet costume ever, just walk around holding a roll of tape.

Some day I'll make a Dan the Goth or Ady Nam costume.

I want to go as Pimpette this year... but I can't seem to find a proper red coat.
You'd think finding a Santa suit to take in would be easier than it is...
The only ones I could find were in Sears and they weren't fluffy enough.

Mebbe when I'm in ottawa this weekend I'll find something.
Then I just have to finish my Turkish and I'm set.

PS that Batman costume with the action bubbles... You're my hero.

about the batman costume....Did you have the newer "black" batman suit or the classic, "Adam west" style costume?


I hope you didn't disgrace the TV classic by wearing Val Kilmer's or Michael Keaton's costumes....

I was never overly creative with my costumes. To be perfectly frank I can't even remember most of them.

In recent years I've mostly gone as some sort of fantasy person, since I was involved in Amtgard (a LARP of sorts, for those who haven't heard of it). So, essentially, I just used a costume I already had. Sometimes it would be some fancy feast garb, sometimes I would be covered head to toe in chainmail.

I once got a prize for the least effort put into my costume.

It was a black chicken made out of stress-ball material.

And so it became my chicken of doom.

And sits atop my computer speakers.

Uh... well, four years ago, I painted my face completely black and glued smarties on the right side of my face. It was for class. Drawing class. Really!

And then I spent the rest of the day with that on, getting odd looks from the whole campus. That was fun.

Now that I think about it though, I'm probably lucky I didn't piss off any African-Americans that day.

Never was into Halloween much as a kid. I'm allergic to sugar, so, what the point?

Got into it more in college, when it was about fun costumes. I've been Dr. Nick Riviera (got a picture of that that I'll post), a soldier, a Viking, and James Bond (cop-out, yes, but I did have a golden gun!).

The best though, were the guys in the house I lived in, who would always make these elaborate costumes themselves and go as a waterbottle, toothpaste, etc. Some of the best included a guy who, with a suit and clever use of coat hangers and trash, went as a man walking into the wind and another guy who took an old refridgerator box and modified it so he could go as a sorority house. He even cut out pictures from J Crew and AberCrombie catalogues and stuck them in the windows.

I just like the Halloween atmosphere. For one day, I really feel like something spooky could happen.
