Well, once a fan mail inspired me into inserting a punchline. And maybe a couple more times what people said inspired me...

I had a poll on my site but it was horribly inactive.

Kinda like most forums, eh?

But I do like your idea of a reader election. Go for it and tell us how it turns out.

Umm, no, I don't think it would be a very good idea to draw my comic according to my readers' input, considering that half the commentary on my tagboard is along the lines of "when are you going to uncensor the fairy's butt?". ;^_^

I still want to know where the bard went without his clothes.
Er, for purely innocent reasons. Uh-huh.

Election Day. By American tradition, it's the first Tuesday to follow a Monday in November. (That way, it never falls on the first.)

*having put in her 2 cents, works hard to derail the thread*

See, it's the thought that you might be missing that uncensored butt that keeps you coming back... Heh-heh-heh...

While I haven't had any official "fan determined" plotpoints, my strip has certainly been influenced by visitors. One I remember in particular was a comment on my Tagboard about evil monkeys, which inspired this strip:

And the individual mentioned/invented in this piece of guest art:

http://mansionofe.keenspace.com/d/20031225.html

fit so well with my existing notes that I've officially grafted him into the comic's backstory. (Although how big a part he will play is yet to be fully detirmined.)
"gooey-duck". A clam. Not a snail.

Super Tuesday? Bloody hell...you make it sound like it's important...

You know what we called our election day this weekend?

Saturday.

Back on topic *ahem*
I've been running a contest on my comic to name an upcoming character (the name of my actual cat is that of a copyrighted character, so I'm taking suggestions).
One entry (well, two if you count the college buddy who replied)
If you've got active readers, go for it, but I'd have a back-up plan in place just in case noone votes.
