I think there's room for a support bard, or I guess you can wrestle rogue out of Trinket's hands.

Sounds good to me. I generally play a Bard or Sorceress. Mainly because I like having high Charisma. I know, I'm so shallow. -_-

New, enhanced list (with the fresh scent of pine).

-----
GameMaster - Jim North - anytime (with possible exceptions of Sunday & Monday)
System - Dungeons & Dragons 3.5E

Exclusions - Psionics, Forgotten Realms feats/magic.
House Rules - Special stat rolling system (supervised by GM), fast and loose rules lawyering.

Players (in alphabetical order)

DarkMagician - Whisper Gnome Cleric of Sheyanna Flaxenstrand - MWF (after 5pm Central) & Th (after 8pm Central)

KittyKatBlack - ??? Bard - ???

orion - ??? Magician (type undecided) - ???

phactorri - ??? Monk - anytime

trinket90 - ??? Rogue - free times
-----

I'll get one of those dice rolling 'bot thingies set up for myself tonight, and we can start making characters tomorrow. I'll try to be in #keenspace all throughout the day (after noon Central Time, at least), so y'all just stop in whenever's good for you and we'll get you set up. I'd go ahead and do it today, but . . . ugh.

If tomorrow's not good for any of you, no worries. I'll catch up with you the day after or something.

okay, 90% certain I intend to play a sorcerer.

Now, I'm afraid I'm really starting to sound like I'm rules lawyering or something, but I like to feel out my options before making a decision.

would you allow things from unearthed arcana? I do not mean allow me to make something up on my own, just one of the book's pregenerated examples.

specifically I was wondering about the desert elf race, in case you haven't got UA the difference between desert elf and normal elf is:
--heat endurance +4 to saves to resist hot weather.
-- +2 dex and -2 strength. (instead of normal score adjustments)
---recieve their proficiencies in scimitar, rapier and shortbow instead of normal.
---+2 bonus on ride and handle animal checks.
---no bonus on listen checks.

otherwise identical to normal elves.

I've also been toying with some of the class ideas like Battle Sorcerer and prestige classes like the Scion (I have no idea how long this game is intended to last)

Everyone's bringing up these Obscure Races from the Black Lagoon, so I'm gonna go against the grain and say

I will be a HUMAN rogue! Bwhahahaha!

There's no rule against that, right?

Eh, that should be okay.

OMG :o

Aaaanyway . . . slight change of plans. I'm going to be busy tomorrow, so I won't be in IRC after all (not much, at least), so character generation will be put off for a day.

sweet then.

Desert Elf sorcerer, with potential to eventually multi-class as fighter or ranger or something combative (I feel a sick compulsion to combine arcane magic with combat, don't ask why).

I assume you have no major problems with the pcs filling in blank spaces on your campaign in the process of coming up with character backstory? I don't imagine desert elves were part of your initial setting anyway.

As for the schedule:

I am potentially free everyday after 5 or 5:30 pm CST, until 2-3 am CST (except on friday and saturday, where I can stay up till whenever). Give me a day or more advanced notice and I will make it happen, assuming no unchangable schedule problems. However the best times are:

Monday + Wednesday 7 pm CST, or later.

Tuesday + Thursday 3 pm CST or later (with maybe a 15 minute break for dinner or something)

Friday 5:30 PM CST

Sat + Sunday 1 PM CST

give me notice and I can shift most of those around a bit.

Well, I don't have an initial setting at the moment, so I'm sure we can work something out during the character creation.

Alright, I'm gonna make the biggest effort ever to be on Keenspace IRC at 10am my time tomorrow morning. That's MIDNIGHT GMT.

THAT'S THESE TIMES, FOLKS.

Now, most of you have said "Whoa, man, I love Friday nights, they're great for D&D" and considering my 10am and GMT's midnight is your friday night, that's when I'm gonna be online.

So let's see how many of you can get on #keenspace at irc.esper.net TONIGHT.
(unless, of course, it's past Oct. 20 2004 in which case YOU MISSED IT BUCKO)

It's a date.
And if you're not there, you will have stood me up.
And we all know that if you get a reputation for standing up your dates - well, you don't have much of a love life ahead of you, hey.

I quoted it so it's just as noticeable.
Ok, and if you can't make it, crap, but let's try for as many players as we can, and we'll work out as much as we can in the time we have.
OK?

seems Jim lost his net connection, must be why we missed him past few days.

What are you planning on doing trinket?
